The work will involve the improvement and cleaning of the facilities
The contracting bodies of the Consortium have awarded the UTE formed by Francisco Manzano S.L. and Nacimiento Infraestructura y Medioambiente, S.L. the execution of the work, which is scheduled to begin in the coming days
The award amount amounts to €1,020,170.82 (VAT not included), 26% below the tender budget
A total of 6 companies participated in the tender for the works opened by the Consortium at the end of last year.
It should be remembered that this warehouse will host the activity of the company Velocípedo Torrot for the manufacture and marketing of the velocipede, a 100% electric three-wheeled vehicle.
The Free Zone of Cádiz, through its contracting bodies, has awarded the work of adaptation of the so-called “Tobacco Manufacturing Plant” (PFC), located in the Cádiz tax area – on the plot of the old Altadis –, and which will be occupied by the company Velocípedo Torrot to develop and market from Cádiz its latest launch: the velocipede, a three-wheeled vehicle that is 100% electric.
The company in charge of the work will be the UTE formed by Francisco Manzano S.L. and Nacimiento Infraestructura y Medioamiente S.L, Unión Temporal de Empresa, with an award amount of 1,020,170.82 euros (VAT not included), which represents a 26% reduction compared to the tender budget which amounted to 1,377,678.35 euros (VAT not included). A total of 6 companies participated in the tender opened by the Consortium at the end of December.
The adaptation and improvement works planned for the property will affect the inverted flat roofs and the inclined sheet metal roofs; improvements will be made to the metal carpentry and glass; Facades will be painted and emergency stairs repaired, among others. It is planned that these works can be carried out simultaneously in their final phase with the works to adapt the activity itself, which in this case will correspond to Torrot.
With this type of actions, Zona Franca continues working to encourage the arrival of investments that generate wealth and employment in the Bay, betting on the modernization of its facilities and improving their competitiveness.
It is worth remembering that Zona Franca and Torrot formalized the installation of the company in the Cádiz tax area at the end of last January, after months of contacts and work to implement this first-class industry in the Bay. Thus, Torrot foresees an investment that will be around 12 million euros and will expand the 5,000 m2 already planned in the aforementioned ship. In fact, it presented a proposal to Public Offer 2/18 opened by the Consortium to occupy more land in the tax area and which will be resolved by the Contracting Board of the Tax Institution in the coming days. All these facilities are added to the offices they already occupy in the Melkart building.
