Jorge Ramos met in Seville with the manager of the APPA, Alfonso Rodríguez, and discussed the favorable opinion of the Advisory Council of Andalusia on the specific modification of the Barreño PGOU
After this new step, Zona Franca awaits final approval from the Ministry of Environment and Territorial Planning
The Consortium anticipates that the works for the facilities of the first companies could be put out to tender in the next 3 months
The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the manager of the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia, Alfonso Rodríguez Gómez de Celis, met on Friday in Seville, a meeting in which they discussed the issue of the favorable opinion issued by the Consultative Council of Andalusia on January 27 on the Specific Modification of the General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) of Los Barrios.
This modification of the PGOU, which the Department of Environment and Territorial Planning must still definitively approve, is an essential requirement to obtain construction licenses for the construction of the facilities that will be occupied by the companies that have already requested to establish themselves in the El Fresno Tax Precinct, within the large project of expansion and expansion of the Free Zone to different municipalities in the province.
A little over a year ago, the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz acquired from the Andalusian Ports Public Agency (APPA) the 140,000 m2 it has in El Fresno and which will soon become a Tax Precinct with the consequent customs and tax advantages for the companies located there.
Once this important step of the favorable opinion of the Advisory Council has been taken, Zona Franca anticipates that the works to build the facilities could be put out to tender in the next three months, given that procedures have already been expedited and two of the projects, a logistics center and an industry dedicated to the production, storage and distribution of seafood products, have been presented to the Los Barrios City Council.
The logistics center will be located on the PLT1 plot, measuring 44,439 m2, and includes the construction of a set of three industrial warehouses consisting of a refrigerated warehouse; dry ship; and workshop warehouse, as well as a building for a Border Inspection post. This complex will have an area of 13,503.45 m2 and will be complemented by a beach for truck parking and 100 loading docks. The total investment for this action amounts to 12,868,566.72 euros (VAT not included).
On another plot, PLT2 of 6,500 m2, the industry dedicated to seafood products will have an industrial building of 4,173.70 m2 built with a floor area of 3,768.14 m2. The total construction budget is 5,059,363.81 euros.
The expansion of the Fiscal Precinct of the Cádiz Free Zone in Los Barrios is very advanced and the Consortium is awaiting approval by the General Directorate of Customs and Special Taxes for the status of Fiscal Precinct, in addition to having called the Public Offer of spaces, to which six companies have submitted, mainly belonging to the logistics and food production sector.
El Fresno will be a productive space of great importance given its strategic location, since the tax area will be located next to the northern access to the Port of Algeciras and at the foot of the road communication with Seville and Madrid and the Mediterranean corridor, which makes it the most important hinterland of the Port of Algeciras.
