Sanz highlighted the commitment of the Government of the Nation with the municipality through the Free Zone and announced that it will carry out two covered paddle tennis courts and a bio-healthy park in the rear area of the property.
The Government delegate stressed that the works, which are co-financed by Funds requested within the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013, will be completed at the end of this year.
The Government delegate in Andalusia, Antonio Sanz; the Special delegate of the State in the Cádiz Free Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos; the mayor of Vejer, José Ortiz; and the subdelegate of the Government in Cádiz, Javier de Torre, visited this morning the works of the Business Center that Zona Franca promotes in Vejer de la Frontera and that is being built by ECISA, the winner of the work, in the equipment plot in UE-2 of SAU 11 “BUENAVISTA 1”.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Municipal Corporation, the Provincial Council and the management team and technical staff of the Free Trade Zone.
The Government delegate in Andalusia highlighted during the visit that “we are facing an emblematic work, one of the most important that has been done in Vejer in recent years.” and expressly thanked the mayor for his work, dedication and commitment to Vejer and its citizens and the delegate of the Free Zone for the concrete support of this Institution to the municipality, highlighting that it has become the true driving force for the promotion of its economic activity.
Sanz stressed that this important facility for the city, with a total investment of 2,300,000 euros, will act as a “incubator for companies with a vision of the future, thinking about employment opportunities, about the new companies that can be established”, which will also see the services complemented with a new complementary phase that the Zona Franca will develop in the back of the building. “A sports complex will be developed with two covered paddle tennis courts and a bio-healthy park, on a 1,816 m2 plot, which will have equipment for maintenance gymnastics, which will be very attractive for the city and especially for the elderly,” said the Government delegate, who clarified that these new works will run parallel to those of the Business Center, with all the action being completed before the end of 2015.
With a budget of 300,000 euros, the two covered paddle tennis courts will occupy an area of 704 m2 and the park with the different gymnastics equipment will occupy more than 1,000 m2. Zona Franca is expediting the procedures for the start of this phase, which will begin in the coming weeks.
Finally, the Government delegate in Andalusia stressed that the progress of the works on the Zona Franca business building, in addition to the announcement a few weeks ago of the construction of an underground parking lot, confirm the commitment of the Government of the Nation with Vejer, one of the municipalities with the greatest tourist projection in Spain.
For his part, the mayor, José Ortiz, thanked the Government for its support, “sensitive to our requests and which, currently, is executing the largest public investment that is being carried out in Vejer.” and stressed that it is an important day since “it marks the first time that a Government delegate visits Vejer.”
The building, in figures
The works on the building visited today, which are progressing at a good pace, began in December and have a completion period of 11 months, an award budget of 1,670,280 euros (VAT not included) and are co-financed by Funds requested within the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013.
The Vejer building, which sits on a municipal plot of 3,550 m2, will have a constructed area of 2,087.57 m2, which will be distributed in a building with a fragmented composition, with pure, white volumes, in line with its location and the architecture of its surroundings.
In one of the areas of the building, the Free Trade Zone Business Center will be located on a total of 1,557 m2 and will have 15 offices, classrooms for different uses and a coworking room, in addition to having 300 m2 for commercial premises. On the other hand, the other area of the building, about 529 m2, will be for the Hospitality School and municipal services, a fact that makes it possible for the project to have a guaranteed return on its investment.
