The Executive Committee of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium approved, in its last session last Thursday, March 13, the awarding of the exploitation of the Algeciras Free Warehouse to the company Bernardino Abad, S.L., within the framework of a public procedure opened by the Cádiz Institution - announced in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on December 3, 2013 -, with the aim of creating a 50/50 company. to carry out the management of the aforementioned Deposit.
The offer presented by Bernardino Abad, a logistics group created in 1915, contains a series of notable aspects for the award, such as being a historical logistics operator of the Port of Cádiz with extensive experience and extensive relationships with the customs authorities, in addition to having an important commercial network that can allow the capture of traffic and operations through the facilities in Algeciras, thus increasing business activity.
From a commercial point of view, the fact that the characteristic that has always defined this company has been the constant expansion and updating of its resources in order to offer a comprehensive service for all the needs of its clients opens up possible sources of indirect income for Zona Franca, which has also valued the commitment to medium-term job creation presented by the company. –with the initial forecast of 15 jobs, a figure that may be expanded in the future– and the recovery of the investment made by the Free Trade Zone in Algeciras.
