The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz is taking the final steps to leave the plot of the old Janer Shooting Range ready for urbanization, which could begin in the first half of 2014, and almost 50 percent of the tree felling work on the land has already been carried out, respecting the species recommended by the forestry engineer's previous report. This week the second phase of this work will begin, which may be completed by the end of next week and the replacement of the rear fence that required authorization from the Coastal Demarcation after recently obtaining the permit is also underway.
The Free Trade Zone works intensely to shorten deadlines and execute the action as soon as possible. In this sense, the technicians of the Cádiz Consortium are already drafting the urbanization project and have also begun work to prepare the Reparcelling Project.
Last week, the field work for the preparation of the necessary archaeological report was also completed because a part of the plot was affected by an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC). The final report is expected to be in the Free Trade Zone in the coming days.
On Friday, another important step was taken in the processing prior to the execution of the work when the San Fernando City Council gave the green light to the initial approval of the Special Plan presented by Zona Franca.
The corresponding period of one month for public information is now open and sectoral reports from all the administrations involved in the project are awaited (Ministry of Defence, Andalusia-Atlantic Coastal Demarcation, Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment, General Directorate of Railway Infrastructures of the Ministry of Development, Administrator of Railway Infrastructures (Adif), General Directorate of Highways, Territorial Delegation of the Ministry competent in matters of Commerce and Territorial Delegation of Culture).
The result of these reports will largely depend on whether Zona Franca can, as is its internal planning, undertake the execution of the urbanization in the first half of 2014.
The Tiro Janer Business-Industrial Park will have an area of 65,000 square meters, with an occupancy of 50%. More than 7,000 m of this surface will be reserved² for green areas, about 3,000 for basic infrastructure and a total of 15,000 square meters are contemplated for commercial use and another 3,000 for industrial use, as well as a hotel zone and business center.
