The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, received two representatives from the Moroccan city of Kenitra on Friday morning at the Consortium's Headquarters. Rachid Belamkissia, president of the urban community of Kenitra (equivalent to the position of mayor) and Mustapha Baba, advisor to the Minister of Transport and Equipment Aziz Rabbah.
The primary objective of the trip to Cádiz is to see first-hand the Interior Campus and the facilities of the main companies, in addition to strengthening relations for future cooperation and the promotion of possible commercial operations between neighboring countries.
Jorge Ramos was satisfied with this visit since “it marks the beginning of future commercial relations with an emerging country like Morocco.”” and added that "the idea is to transfer the experience that the Free Zone has in certain facilities, such as frozen factories, taking into account the important fruit and vegetable production of the neighboring country." “It's about exporting our experience,” he added.
For his part, Rachid Belamkissia thanked the “warm welcome that has been given to him in Cádiz by his Spanish friends.”” and pointed out that the visit and the beginning of relations with the Free Zone “is part of a global agreement already established and that can be strengthened now.” The mayor of Kenitra explained that his city is one of the most important production centers and that a free zone has recently been built, in which marketing is carried out by Spaniards.
The Moroccan authorities signed the Consortium's Book of Honor and held a meeting with the technical team. Likewise, Jorge Ramos explained to them the projects carried out by the Free Trade Zone and showed them a video detailing the evolution and development of the Cádiz Institution.
Subsequently, the representatives of the neighboring country visited different parts of the Interior Campus and the most emblematic buildings. –Melkart, Heracles and the new Europa Building soon to be inaugurated - and they saw first-hand the facilities of large companies located in the Campus, such as Procosur and Harinera Vilafranquina.
To conclude the visit, the delegate of the Free Zone and his management team accompanied the Moroccan representatives to the Gaditano Casino where its president, Miguel Nuche, offered a lunch and where the president of the urban community of Kenitra, Rachid Belamkissia, signed the Book of Honor.
