The presence of the entity in the property will contribute to the revitalization of the innovation and Blue Economy ecosystem and will reinforce the role of the Cádiz Consortium as a reference center for the sector.
With the installation of the CMNC in the iconic recycled container building, the Free Trade Zone and the Cluster will strengthen their collaboration, allowing the development of joint actions to promote entrepreneurship and technology transfer throughout its environment.

The Cádiz Naval Maritime Cluster (CMNC) will be installed in the Zona Base-Incubazul building, which houses the Blue Economy incubator and the Blue Core project, where it will have its operational headquarters permanently, reinforcing its link with the Cádiz Free Zone, which has been a member of the naval maritime entity since 2022. This was ratified this Friday by the State delegate in the Free Zone, Fran González, and the president of the Cluster from Cádiz, José Luis García Zaragoza, at the signing ceremony that took place in the incubator's own recycled maritime container building.
The presence of the Cluster in the emblematic building of the Free Trade Zone will mean a new step in the positioning of the Cádiz Consortium as a reference pole for the Blue Economy and innovation since it will increase the connection between innovative entrepreneurship and the consolidated business fabric of the naval maritime sector, in addition to facilitating the transfer of knowledge and technology to accelerated companies.
The CMNC will collaborate with the entrepreneurial fabric of the Free Zone and will participate in evaluation committees, technical conferences and activities, providing experts, technicians and associated companies for training, mentoring and networking actions and connecting the incubated companies with its extensive business network.
The joint work between both entities will also promote the capture of projects and opportunities for public and private financing and will promote qualified employment and economic activity linked to the Blue Economy, also giving greater visibility to the province of Cádiz and the Free Zone as a reference pole for the development of projects linked to the maritime, naval, logistics and technological sectors, generating a driving effect on the entire business ecosystem of the province of Cádiz and all of Andalusia.
The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Fran González, highlighted his satisfaction with the incorporation of the Cádiz cluster, which will mean "significantly reinforcing the consolidation strategy of the innovation ecosystem specialized in the Blue Economy. It must be taken into account that the daily coexistence between startups, innovative companies, technology centers and a reference business organization will allow the acceleration of innovation processes, favoring public-private cooperation and increasing opportunities for business growth."
For his part, the president of the CMNC, José Luis García Zaragoza, pointed out that "the installation of the Cluster in the Base Zone-Incubazul reinforces our commitment to an open and collaborative innovation model, fully aligned with the needs of the sector. This new headquarters will allow us to accelerate strategic projects, bring technology closer to the business fabric and strengthen the Blue Economy ecosystem throughout the province, in addition to supporting the promotion of incubated companies."
Both organizations maintain close collaboration and the Cádiz Free Zone became part of the Cádiz maritime entity in 2022. The link of the Cádiz Free Zone with the sea, maritime traffic and international trade and the development of its Blue Economy projects means that joint work with entities in the sector represents added value for the Cádiz Consortium and its new 4.0 industrial model.
The Cádiz Naval Maritime Cluster is a non-profit business association that since 2015 has been working to defend the interests of the sector, seeking its continuous improvement. Its objective is to promote, boost, energize and develop the Andalusian naval maritime sector, through work focused on the following lines of action: organization, communication, training and education, strategy and competitiveness and internationalization.
