The document, prepared by the General Intervention of the State and presented today to the Plenary Session, shows that the Cádiz Consortium is already self-sufficient in its management and eliminates any hint of uncertainty
For the third consecutive year, the audit once again issues a favorable opinion without qualifications in the entity's annual accounts
The State delegate, Fran González, highlights that “the report supports the solid management carried out and demonstrates that the Free Trade Zone is a solvent and self-sufficient institution to face future projects.”
The General State Intervention (IGAE) has ratified in its annual report the solvency of the financial situation of the Cádiz Free Zone, issuing again and for the third consecutive year a favorable report without qualifications and eliminating from the document any note related to the material uncertainty related to the tax entity. The document was presented today at the Consortium Plenary Meeting that took place at the Headquarters.
The report, which demonstrates the self-sufficiency in the management of the Cádiz Free Zone, also reflects that the year 2025 is shown as the year of consolidation of the growth of the Cádiz entity, with positive economic results for the second consecutive year after 13 consecutive years of losses and a total clean-up of finances, making the Cádiz Consortium a self-sufficient entity, a situation that allows it to comfortably face future projects.
It must be remembered that the Cádiz Free Trade Zone formulated its 2025 accounts on March 31, which confirmed the path of stability and financial health achieved in recent years. The closing of the financial year showed a profit of 6.1 million euros, a figure that triples that of 2024, when the figure reached 1.9 million euros.
Already in 2024, the balance of the accounts confirmed the evolution of the Cádiz Free Zone, which recovered its solvency and liquidity and made it possible for the General State Intervention to issue a favorable report without qualifications in its audit for the second consecutive year, after in 2023 it carried out it for the first time in the history of the Cádiz Consortium since audits have been carried out.
There are several figures that support and consolidate this positive evolution of the financial situation. The report highlights as relevant the increase in the figure for rental income, which has been growing substantially, reaching income of 11.42 million euros in 2023, 11.92 million euros in 2024 and 12.39 million euros in 2025.
Another important fact is that the upward trend in income from the corporate tax appeal of the companies installed in the premises continues, with income of more than 7 million euros, a figure that is triple the average income in the last five years and which allows the Free Zone to plan greater investment in its infrastructure.
In parallel, the level of indebtedness continues to reduce, reaching at the end of the 2025 financial year below 90 million euros, although work continues on a greater reduction and recently, in the month of June, two financial operations have been approved that have allowed the conditions of some existing loans to be improved, changes that represent a further reduction of the Consortium's total debt by an additional 12 million euros, going from 190 million in 2019 to 75.5 million in debt. alive today.
The delegate of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, has highlighted the importance of the audit report being once again favorable without qualifications, since "it demonstrates the correct application of accounting principles and the solidity of the administrative and financial procedures. All of this reinforces and strengthens confidence in the Institution and in its ability to continue promoting strategic projects for the province of Cádiz."
When we formulated the accounts for 2025 as of March 31 of this year "we already confirmed the consolidation of the growth of the Cádiz Free Zone, a growth in initiatives and projects that have their impact on the economic results and in the clean-up of the accounts."
Fran González stressed that "the report supports the management carried out and demonstrates that the Free Trade Zone is a solvent and insufficient Institution that allows us to comfortably execute future projects."
The positive outlook drawn by the financial situation of the Cádiz Free Zone is the result of strict and ample compliance with the 2021-2025 Viability Plan self-imposed upon the arrival of the current State delegate to office.
The financial statements show the solvency and solidity, which support the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan approved a few months ago. This plan outlines the roadmap for the Free Trade Zone to continue attracting talent and initiatives that promote a more innovative and competitive business fabric in favor of the socio-economic development of the province of Cádiz, a fundamental statutory objective of the Cádiz Consortium.
