The initiative, held in the Zona Base-Incubazul building and developed within the framework of the Incubazul-Blue Core ecosystem, has focused on innovation applied to cardiovascular health and the reduction of salt consumption
The State delegate, Fran González, has highlighted the importance of “this type of actions by our startups, which we always accompany and with which we are in continuous learning”
Today, the Zona Base-Incubazul building in the Zona Franca hosted an awareness day on hypertension and healthy eating promoted together with Marisma Biomed, a company integrated into the Incubazul-Blue Core ecosystem, on the occasion of World Hypertension Day, which was celebrated last Sunday.
The initiative has brought together health professionals, institutional representatives, patients and entities linked to the field of health and innovation to reflect on one of the main current public health problems: excessive salt consumption and its direct relationship with cardiovascular diseases such as stroke or heart attack.
During the day, the importance of promoting innovative solutions that contribute to improving cardiovascular health and promoting healthier and more sustainable eating habits was highlighted, also addressing the impact that excess sodium has on the population and the need to move towards more balanced food alternatives.
The State delegate for the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Fran González, was in charge of opening the meeting and highlighted "the importance of promoting initiatives like this, especially when it is a fundamental issue for health and general well-being, and all of this is also linked to innovation and the Blue Economy, which enriches our ecosystem day by day."
Fran González added that "we are very happy to be able to contribute our grain of sand, since at Zona Franca we have always been and are committed to accompanying companies and startups on their path to consolidation and from whom we also obtain continuous learning."
One of the central axes of the day was the presentation of the work developed by Marisma Biomed around low-sodium functional salts, a line of innovation that connects health, sustainability and healthy eating from the Blue Economy ecosystem promoted by Incubazul-Blue Core.
The session included the participation of Joan Montaner, neurologist and founder of Marisma Biomed, as well as health professionals and representatives of the pharmaceutical and associative field, who shared experiences and reflections on prevention, nutrition and cardiovascular health.
After the interventions, attendees participated in a tasting of functional salts developed by Marisma Biomed and in practical cardioprotection training given by the Spanish Red Cross.
With this type of initiatives, the Cádiz Free Trade Zone continues to strengthen its support for innovative projects integrated into the Incubazul-Blue Core ecosystem, favoring the development of companies capable of generating positive impact in areas such as health, sustainability, food and applied innovation.
The Blue Core project is 85% financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain 2021-2027, within the framework of priority P1A of the Nurseries 4.0 High Technology Incubators Program, intended to promote a digital and intelligent transition.
