The Zona Base-Incubazul building hosted the 1st edition of Blue Exterior EXPO, a day to promote innovative Blue Economy initiatives

More than 60 attendees and 11 companies participated in a meeting aimed at generating connections, opportunities and visibility for the innovative ecosystem linked to the sector.

Fran González highlighted that these types of initiatives are necessary because “they generate very valuable real situations for startups,” which he encouraged to participate in the Blue Zone Forum-Innovazul in October.

This Wednesday afternoon, the new Zona Base-Incubazul building hosted the celebration of the first edition of Blue Exterior EXPO, an initiative promoted within the framework of Blue Core aimed at recreating the operation of an international professional fair and promoting the connection between companies, innovative projects and entities of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The conference brought together companies, institutions and professionals linked to innovation, sustainability, internationalization and the Blue Economy, who were able to learn first-hand about the new ecosystem promoted by Incubazul-Blue Core and the projects participating in the different accelerators currently underway.

During the meeting, participating companies had a space to present their projects to the audience through business pitches, allowing them to share their value proposition, give visibility to their initiatives and establish connections with potential collaborators, entities and professionals attending the event.

The delegate of the Free Trade Zone, Fran González, closed the meeting, congratulating the participants for the environment created and highlighted "the value of this type of initiatives for the entrepreneurial ecosystem linked to the Blue Economy because it places startups in real situations, very valuable on the path to consolidation as companies."

Fran González congratulated the participants for the excellent exhibition and encouraged them to participate in the Blue Zone Forum-Innovazul, which will be held in its fourth edition in October in Cádiz and which “will be the best showcase to give visibility to the Blue Economy ecosystem and its startups.”

The companies interacted with professional visitors who toured the different spaces set up in the building, simulating the context of an international professional fair, which made it possible to put into practice real dynamics of presentation, connection and business generation.

The companies participating in this first edition were Atridel, EONSEA, Flavoom, Pigmenta Algae, Salaria, Productos La Salá, Salinnova, A Todo Vela, The Talent Sea, Escaramujo Wines and Consultora Trafalgar.

The initiatives stood out for their innovative nature in areas such as marine biotechnology, environmental sustainability, engineering, food linked to the marine environment and business internationalization.

In addition to serving as a visibility space for the participating projects, Blue Exterior EXPO allowed the facilities and capabilities of the Incubazul Base Zone building to be shown as a meeting point for entrepreneurship, innovation and business collaboration.

With initiatives such as Blue Exterior EXPO and the promotion of programs such as Blue Core, the Cádiz Free Zone continues to consolidate its position as one of the main poles of promotion of the Blue Economy, favoring innovation, internationalization and the growth of a business ecosystem linked to the marine environment and sustainable development.

The Blue Core project is 85% financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain 2021-2027, within the framework of priority P1A of the Nurseries 4.0 High Technology Incubators Program, intended to promote a digital and intelligent transition.
