The Cádiz Free Zone participates in Panama in the World Congress of Free Zones

The heads of the Business Promotion and Foreign Trade Area, Marta Domínguez, and the Financial and Blue Economy Area, José Manuel Fedriani, travel on institutional representation of the Cádiz Consortium to strengthen ties and establish contacts with free zones and companies

The meeting, which will be held from May 12 to 14, brings together business and political leaders from around the world to analyze the future of trade and boost the sector as an engine of development in a political context of uncertainty.

Taking advantage of the framework of the world congress, the general assembly of the Association of Free Zones of the Americas (AZFA) will be held.

The Cádiz Free Zone will be present from May 12 to 14 in Panama at the World Congress of Free Zones, which will bring together political and business leaders from around the world in the Panamanian capital. It will be the director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade, Marta Domínguez, and the director of the Financial Area and Blue Economy, José Manuel Fedriani, who will travel to Panama on institutional representation of the Cádiz Consortium.

The presence of the Cádiz representatives at the global forum confirms the role of the Free Zone as an international platform for startups that are part of the Blue Economy ecosystem created by the Cádiz Institution, one of which - EONSEA - will attend the event under the mantle of Blue Core-Incubazul, promoting its project and giving visibility to its activity in international markets.

It should be remembered that EONSEA is currently participating in the Blue Core Exterior program and is a technological startup specialized in the inspection, monitoring and analysis of underwater infrastructure, which combines advanced robotics and Artificial Intelligence to optimize the management of submerged assets.

The meeting of global free zones will also serve as a stage to celebrate the general assembly of the Association of Free Zones of the Americas (AZFA), which will have a large participation of its members in the world forum, and which is already preparing, together with the Free Zone of Cádiz, the organization of the XXIX Conference of Ibero-American Free Zones to be held in Cádiz from October 26 to 28 of this year.

The Spanish presence at the congress, which will allow the opening of the Cádiz Free Zone to global free zones, will be made up of representatives from Cádiz along with those from other Spanish free zones, specifically Vigo, Barcelona, ​​Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

The World Free Zones Organization (World FZO), based in Dubai, will hold its 12th World Congress from May 12 to 14, 2026 in Panama City and the event will bring together more than 1,500 public policy makers, business leaders and high-level executives of free zones from different regions of the world.

According to the organizers, under the motto “Free zones in the new global operating model: challenges and opportunities”, the meeting will seek to offer a strategic platform for dialogue and collaboration aimed at promoting resilient, digital and sustainable growth in a global economy in transformation.

In fact, the congress will be a key meeting at a time of profound global transformation. In a context marked by geopolitical changes, accelerated digitalization and demands for sustainability, the meeting in Panama seeks to redefine the role of free zones as engines of competitiveness, resilience and inclusive growth.

Both the financial and Blue Economy director and the director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade of the Cádiz Free Zone will take advantage of their stay in Panama to strengthen ties and contacts with free zones, entities and companies in Latin America, especially Colombia, as a result of previous trade missions.
