The director of the Consortium's Blue Economy, Jose Manuel Fedriani, participated in the round table “Towards a prosperous Blue Economy: opportunities and challenges in the Spanish context”
The meeting, which was held from April 22 to 24, brought together the main experts in the sector, with 40 presentations and four high-level round tables
The director of the Financial and Blue Economy Area of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Jose Manuel Fedriani, has represented the Cádiz Consortium at the 65th International Congress of Naval Engineering and Maritime Industry that was held in Malaga from April 22 to 24 and which brought together the main experts in the sector with 40 presentations and four high-level round tables.
In one of these tables, specifically the one titled “Towards a prosperous Blue Economy: opportunities and challenges in the Spanish context”, Fedriani explained how the Free Trade Zone is consolidating the province of Cádiz as a hub for the sector, creating an ideal ecosystem for the development of projects linked to the sea and weaving an important network of alliances to reinforce it.
Jose Manuel Fedriani, who participated in the event on behalf of the delegate of the Cádiz Consortium, Fran González, who was unable to attend due to agenda adjustments, shared the poster with the president of the Andalusian Maritime Cluster, Javier Noriega; the president of the Fishing Shipowners Cooperative of the Port of Vigo, Javier Touza; and the general director of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Blue Economy of the Junta de Andalucía, Carlos Aldereguía.
The head of the Blue Economy Area of the Free Zone has reported on the Blue Core program, co-financed by Feder Funds, which has come to reinforce the Blue Economy ecosystem of the Cádiz Consortium and to give continuity to the highly innovative incubator Incubazul, reinforcing its strategic commitment to the sector as an engine of economic development, innovation and generation of qualified employment, arguing that the Blue Economy is not a passing trend, it is one of the great vectors of growth in Europe in the coming decades and in the province In Cádiz, all the conditions coexist to lead it, with a comprehensive model that creates, accelerates and consolidates companies.”
The 65th Congress of Naval Engineering and Maritime Industry has brought together experts from academia, private companies and the Navy in Malaga for three days. Among other topics, the challenges faced by the maritime and naval sector have been addressed, distributed in different thematic areas such as defense, wind, fishing, merchant, blue economy, cruises and recreational boating.
In addition, the event has had an innovation zone aimed at startups and entrepreneurs of the Blue Economy who wish to make their projects visible to the maritime industry and connect with potential investors for their development.
