Zona Franca de Cádiz and INCYDE Foundation reinforce their collaboration with a training plan that will promote self-employment and entrepreneurship

The delegate of the Cádiz Consortium, Fran González, and the general director of Incyde, Javier Collado, have signed an agreement today by which they will develop four training actions linked to the Blue Economy

The chamber entity has been an intermediate body of the Feder Funds for the projects of the Cádiz Consortium Incubazul and Blue Core

In addition, both organizations have signed an agreement for the Agri-Food Summit “Global.es Food Systems”, which is held within the framework of Alimentaria 2026.

The Cádiz Free Zone and the Incyde Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce of Spain reinforce their relationship with two new lines of work that they have ratified today in the form of collaboration agreements, both signed at the Headquarters of the Cádiz Consortium and that add to the relationship and joint work carried out with the chamber entity, which has been an intermediate body of the Feder Funds in the Incubazul and Blue Core projects of the Cádiz Consortium.

In this way, the delegate of the State of the Free Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, and the general director of the Incyde Foundation, Javier Collado, have signed this morning an agreement by which both entities will work together in the development of a training plan to promote entrepreneurship. At the same meeting, González and Collado have sealed an alliance for the participation of Zona Franca and its Blue Core project in the Alimentaria fair, which will be held between March 23 and 24 in Barcelona.

The signed agreement contemplates the development of four training programs linked to different strategic sectors of the Blue Economy, aimed at entrepreneurship and business creation and consolidation in Andalusia. These programs are co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) within the framework of the State Program for Employment, Education, Training and Social Economy 2021-2027 and have as a priority the promotion of self-employment, the sustainability of economic activities and the development of professional and social skills that increase both the possibilities of entrepreneurial success as well as employability and social inclusion.

In addition to specialized training, the programs incorporate activities that complement the training program, such as orientation and awareness days and workshops, mentoring, monitoring, etc., in order to offer continuity to participants in the training program, which will have a series of services that will be temporarily extended and will serve as future support to the participants.

The objective of this training plan is to guide businessmen and entrepreneurs in their work of both creating and consolidating a company in the sector, a booming sector of the blue economy, which involves all economic sectors from fishing to shipbuilding and its auxiliary industry or tourist services related to the sea.

Collaboration in the Agri-Food Summit “Global.es Agri-Food Systems”

At the same event, those responsible for the Cádiz Free Trade Zone and the Incyde Foundation have also signed their collaboration for the participation of the Cádiz Institution in the Agri-Food Summit “Global.es Agri-Food Systems”, which will be held from March 23 to 24 in Barcelona in the context of Alimentaria 2026. The Summit, organized by the INCYDE Foundation and the Mediterranean Diet Foundation, will bring together institutional representatives, experts and companies to address the main challenges and opportunities of food systems globally.

In this framework, the delegate of the Cádiz Consortium will present the Blue Core project, which will also have its own stand in which the activity carried out in the field of the Blue Economy linked to the food sectors will be displayed.

In fact, six of the startups that work on activities related to food at Incubazul-Blue Core will also be in the exhibitor area and one of them will make a presentation. They will be Salaria, which extracts artisanal salt in a sustainable way, offering a natural product with many organoleptic and nutritional benefits; Productos La Salá, which produces innovative products based on salicornia collected in the Bahía de Cádiz natural park; Escaramujo Wines, underwater winery; Marisma Biomed, develops functional foods and food supplements with ingredients from the marsh; Flavoom, dedicated to the production and distribution of homemade, vegan and sustainable vegetable sauces and preserves; and SeaBites, natural pet foods with seafood.

The presence of Blue Core and these startups at the Agri-Food Summit will give visibility to the Cádiz Free Trade Zone project and generate new contact opportunities in one of the main international forums in the food sector, as it is held within the framework of Alimentaria, one of the great international references in the industry. And the Alimentaria fair is a meeting point to which the first exhibitors and visitors joined in 1976 and which, currently, brings together the entire value chain of the food industry. Thus, promoting the evolution and transformation of the industry and reflecting its progress, Alimentaria has established itself as one of the great international references.

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Fran González, thanked Javier Collado for the collaboration of the Incyde Foundation in promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment in the field of innovation and the Blue Economy. "We are very happy to strengthen our relationship with the Incyde Foundation, with whom we have had ties for years because Incyde is an intermediate body of the Feder Funds for the development of our Incubazul and Blue Core projects and before that for the launch of our business incubators in Palmones and Ubrique. The commitment of the chamber entity to Cádiz makes us feel proud and encourages us to continue working in the Blue Economy ecosystem and to consolidate the province of Cádiz as great forum of the sector.”

For his part, Javier Collado has stressed the importance of institutional cooperation to strengthen the business fabric and encourage the creation of new economic initiatives. "Collaboration with entities committed to territorial development such as the Cádiz Free Trade Zone is key to promoting programs that generate employment, promote self-employment and accompany entrepreneurs in the launch and consolidation of their projects. Our objective is to contribute to sustainable growth and the modernization of the productive fabric."
