Important recognition for the Incubazul startup Tu Destino Sostenible

The company becomes part of the list of sustainability certifications that meet the criteria of Travalyst, an entity that includes brands such as Booking, Amadeus and Tripadvisor.

The initiatives of the incubator of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz are taking steps that consolidate their activity day by day and that confirm the good progress of the Incubazul acceleration program

The startup Tu Destino Sostenible, housed in the Blue Economy incubator of the Free Zone of Cádiz, has managed to become part of the list of sustainability certifications that meet the criteria of Travalyst, an important tourism sustainability certificate for accommodations, restaurants, activities and destinations.

In fact, Your Sustainable Destination accommodation standard has been reviewed and approved according to the criteria of Travalyst, a global non-profit coalition of some of the largest brands in travel and technology: Amadeus, Booking.com, Expedia Group , Google, Mastercard, Sabre, Skyscanner, Travelport, Grupo Trip.com, Tripadvisor and Visa.

Alfonso Matías, director of Tu Destino Sostenible, has been very satisfied with the path taken and with the certificate and has pointed out that “for us it is a very important milestone in this stage of growth and consolidation. It must be taken into account that establishments that obtain certifications recognized by Travalyst will be listed as accommodations with a validated sustainability certificate.”

The director of the startup added that “it gives us worldwide recognition and validation that can be very attractive for those accommodations that seek to stand out in such a competitive market, since it also increases our clients' confidence in our standard, as it is included in a list of certificates that really meet high sustainability standards.”

The Travalist list aims to support certifications through an ever-evolving legislative landscape while providing consistency across all travel booking sites. Following an independent review of their processes, the listed certifications meet three initial criteria developed by the Travalyst coalition and validated by its independent advisory group.

On the one hand, they have to undergo an independent audit that includes in-person and/or remote online evaluation of the sustainable practices reported by the property.
Secondly, that the standards on which the certification is based are publicly available; and finally, that the certification focuses on evaluating the impact of social and/or economic and/or environmental factors, among others, as included within, but not restricted to, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations .

This new recognition of one of the initiatives hosted in Incubazul confirms the good work being done by the Cádiz Free Trade Zone incubator and its acceleration program, which has already received several global recognitions in national and international forums. Alfonso Matías is clear about it: “we always say that entering Incubazul and the support of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone for our initiative has been crucial to developing our certification. Your Sustainable Destination exists because we entered the right incubator that provided us with the advice and mentoring we needed. Our participation in Incubazul and the Cádiz Free Trade Zone provided us with the resources, support and network necessary to develop and validate our sustainability certificate, culminating in its approval by Travalyst.”

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, has expressed his satisfaction with this important recognition for the startup Tu Destino Sostenible, “which confirms once again that our acceleration program and our incubator work.”

The person in charge of the Consortium has indicated that this achievement at a particular level is added to the different recognitions obtained globally by Incubazul in different national and international forums. “We must not forget that we are in first place in the Andalusian ranking of the Savings Bank Foundation (Funcas) 2024 and we have positioned ourselves as finalists in the Europa Se Sent Awards, among others. And something very important that reaffirms us in our work and gives us the push to continue with the effort is that we are an international reference in the Blue Economy and they have asked us to learn about the project of countries such as Morocco, Colombia, Uruguay or Argentina.”
