The Cádiz firm is preparing a sustainable building in a 3,688 m2 warehouse and will create 80 jobs
Elecam Group will be installed in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz with a sustainable and intelligent building that will not only reinforce the commitment to the new industry 4.0 model of the Gaditano Consortium, but will also lay the foundations for what is going to be the remodeling and activation of the old Altadis facilities.
Specifically, this electrical supplies, engineering and industrial services company from Cádiz is working on the development of the International Palletizing Center (CPI), a 3,688 m2 facility in the tax area, with interventions in the envelope, in the facilities and the distribution in a way that encourages innovation within it and the sustainability of the building and is suitable for the installation of what will be its central offices.
In an effort to minimize the building's ecological footprint, key interventions will be carried out in the building envelope, improving thermal insulation and reducing energy losses, especially in areas of greatest flow of activity. This optimization of resources will not only reduce energy consumption but will also promote a more comfortable and productive work environment.
In line with the principles of the circular economy, Elecam Group, which will create 80 jobs in the new facility, will implement an energy management system that will facilitate the reuse of energy not only consumed but also the surplus stored. This approach highlights the intention to maximize the use of energy generated by renewable sources, adapting to fluctuations in internal and external demand and contributing to a more resilient and self-sufficient energy system.
The installation of photovoltaic panels, a storage system and charging stations for electric vehicles complement the installation in such a way that the CPI becomes an infrastructure model with net zero emissions and raising the standard in renewable energy technologies.
In these premises, a state-of-the-art professional sales point will be inaugurated, designed to provide a first-class purchasing experience and customer service, focused especially on meeting the demands of professionals in the electrical and industrial installations sector. In addition, the CPI will have an advanced semi-automatic system for cutting and labeling electrical cables, guaranteeing an agile and effective response for critical projects and needs throughout Europe. The incorporation of specialized warehouses, both general and project, will consolidate Elecam Group's position as a strategic ally in the supply chain, delivering adapted and high-value solutions.
In addition to the adaptation of the facilities carried out by the company itself, Zona Franca has carried out some conditioning works such as the rehabilitation of exterior facades, the replacement of aluminum carpentry, rehabilitation of loading docks or various improvements in hydraulic infrastructures and electrical, with a total investment of 250,000 euros.
At the same time, the implementation of the Cádiz firm in this facility will mean the take-off of this area of the tax area since it is expected that the start of the company's activity will be a stimulus that will attract the installation of other firms. in the facilities of the old tobacco factory
All of this is in line with the line of work of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone and its new 4.0 industrial model, based on a highly innovative, sustainable industry committed to the environment. In fact, 23 innovative-based companies are already established in the facilities of the Consortium's fiscal premises, three of which – Capgemini, Quest Global and Elecam itself – have arrived in recent weeks.
This renovation of the CPI of the part of the Cádiz tax precinct that belonged to the former Altadis taco shop is a clear example of how the integration of responsible practices with daily operations can lead the transformation towards a greener and more sustainable economy, aligning with the futuristic vision of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz and the innovative spirit of Elecam Group.
