The project will have an investment of 24.6 million euros and will generate 149 jobs, 20 of which will remain permanent
The Consortium delegate, Fran González, explained that the establishment, which will be located next to Zona Base-Incubazul, will be a new impetus for the revitalization of this area of the city.
The outer polygon of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone will have a student residence next to the Incubazul Base Zone container building. This was ratified this Friday after the signing of the contract between the Free Zone and the winning company that materializes the announcement made last December when the presentation of the purchase option was already advanced.
The development company RYA Residencias SL, with extensive experience in the main university cities of the south and east, will be in charge of the implementation of this new establishment that will contribute substantially to the revitalization of this area of the city, since it will be located in a plot located in UE ZF-08 next to Zona Base-Incubazul.
The project, whose total investment will be 24.6 million euros, will generate 149 jobs, 20 of which will remain permanent for operation and will have multiple services with waiting and general stay areas, self-service laundry, dining room/restaurant, study rooms, group work rooms, conference rooms, etc.
The residence, scheduled to open in 2026, will have 250 rooms (353 beds) and basement parking. It will have different types of accommodation, with 136 single rooms, 2 suites, 103 double rooms for shared use and 9 adapted ones.
It will be a building in line with the new model of the Free Trade Zone within the framework of the sustainability criteria that it has imposed on all its facilities in the last 3 years and will have well-kept common areas, a swimming pool, a gym and will be given a high priority of green areas.
The State delegate, Fran González, has been very satisfied after signing the contract and has pointed out that “the signing of this contract is a milestone in both the urban planning and administrative procedure that is being developed by the Zona Franca in the “Execution of the Base Zone in the outer polygon.”
González added that operations like this “also show how the commercial actions of these spaces in the city of Cádiz are being successful with this new model, with projects and initiatives such as this student residence that completes the offer that is being offered for facilities that "They have a more innovative and technological character and also diversify the actions that are being developed and implemented in the outer industrial area of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz."
It must be remembered that a hotel will be located in that same Execution Unit, the construction of which was awarded by the Free Zone in February 2023 to the joint offer presented by VDR Multiva and Ispal Advisor. The new hotel, which will complement the limited supply that exists in the city of this type of establishments that cover stays for professional reasons, will generate around 30 new jobs.
