Sixty-four people have registered to participate in the II Incubazul Hackathon organized by the High Technology Incubator, Incubazul. A meeting of entrepreneurs in the Blue Economy in which, through collaborative work, a response is given to a challenge or problem of an organization in record time.
The II Hackathon Incubazul is especially aimed at people with entrepreneurial capacity, as well as students from educational centers. Several educational centers in the province have been involved in the event with the participation of their students.
The State delegate in the Free Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, has been very satisfied with the response obtained in the call for this meeting, and after thanking the institutions and collaborating entities for their participation, he has pointed out that this Hackakton "invites us to solve important challenges, but it is also an opportunity for the future and present for educational centers, which can already have mentoring and facilities in the Free Zone incubator such as a laboratory equipped with the latest technology material and machinery." “The administrations are here to accompany the development of these entrepreneurial ideas,” the delegate concluded.
Dynamics of the II Hackathon
The event will take place over two days, today and tomorrow, the first aimed at preparing the teams' challenges and the second for the presentation of the resolution of challenges before the jury.
In this second edition of the Incubazul Hackathon, each team develops a project based on blue economy and sustainability and has the advice of Incubazul mentors in the business, oceanography, finance, technology and legal areas of Incubazul.
The participants have been grouped into nine teams that compete for two prizes: a sustainable experience for two people and becoming part of the project acceleration program, Incubazul. The Hackathon challenges mostly revolve around topics such as sustainable coastal tourism, aquaculture and environmental health.
The teams work autonomously with the accompaniment of the mentors present, who teach sessions. On the second day they will prepare the presentations, they will speak before the jury of the II Hackathon Incubazul, which will decide the winning projects based on sustainable criteria.
The II Hackathon is organized by the High Technology Incubator in Blue Economy of the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Incubazul, in collaboration with the University Research Institute for Sustainable Social Development of the University of Cádiz, – through the COEDPA Social Laboratory within the framework of the Youth in SDG Network project, financed by the Andalusian Agency for Development Cooperation, in the call for Universities 2021. The Integrated Center of Zaporito Maritime Vocational Training.
The Cádiz Free Trade Zone implements with Incubazul a project that aims to be a benchmark in the Blue Economy throughout Spain and in which circumstances are created to attract and promote talent and ideas with the oceans and seas as the main focus.
Incubazul has 80% co-financing from the European FEDER Funds within the 2014-2020 Operational Program, A Way of Making Europe, through the INCYDE Foundation and has the support of Telefónica.
