The State delegate in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, Fran González, and the rector of the University of Cádiz, Francisco Piniella, held a meeting today at the Consortium's Headquarters to review the framework of joint actions developed, strengthen institutional relations and promote a plan of R&D&I activities linked to the Blue Economy, an area of strategic interest for both parties.
In this context, it has been agreed to explore the most efficient formal channel of institutional relations to materialize the objectives addressed in a meeting that was also attended by the general director of Institutional Relations of the UCA, Mamen Gómez, and the secretary of the Social Council of the University of Cádiz, Olga de la Pascua. Both parties have agreed to convene technical meetings shortly to outline these agreements.
The rector of the UCA has taken advantage of the meeting to invite the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz to participate in the II International Meeting of Growth and Blue Economy (InnovAzul) scheduled for the end of next November. For his part, Fran González has expressed his desire for the UCA to get involved in the IncubAzul project launched by Zona Franca de Cádiz to attract talent, promote entrepreneurial culture and generate innovative business initiatives linked to R&D&I in the Blue Economy.
