Zona Franca carries out the demolition of the old Narváez Workshops

The work, which is part of the reorganization work of the exterior polygon, affects the UE-ZF 02 execution unit in the Navalips area

The Free Zone of Cádiz has begun the demolition work of the old existing facilities on the plot that belonged to Talleres Narváez, located on Calle del Estrecho, formerly Manuel de la Pinta, in the outer polygon of the Free Zone very close to the entrance to the tax area, and which are being carried out by the company Sercon Infraestructuras.

The demolition work affects the UE-ZF-02 execution unit, in the Navalips area, and is an important step in the reorganization of the entire outer polygon of the Free Zone since it allows progress in urban development by providing more land for the development of future actions.

The building that is being demolished dates back to the early 1960s and was built to house Talleres Narváez, mechanical workshops that were dedicated to machining and welding work linked to the industries that were then located in the area.

The plot has a total area of 459 m2 and there was a warehouse with a sawtooth-shaped roof with a small plant inside with a constructed area of 481 m2.

With these works, Zona Franca de Cádiz continues the progress in the reorganization of the outer industrial estate since a month ago it awarded the work of the Base Zone to the company Díaz Cubero, which will carry out the construction work of the emblematic marine container building within a period of 14 months from obtaining the corresponding license. This building will be located in the UE-ZF-08 execution unit, where Ibérica Aga was formerly located.

The Free Trade Zone has one of its priority lines of work in the reorganization of the city's outer polygon, despite the fact that it only has about 8% of its surface. Even so, given the strategic nature of this important space for the socioeconomic growth of the city, it is contributing to creating productive spaces with sustainable infrastructures that also visually improve the aesthetics of the entrance to the city of Cádiz through the industrial zone.
