This is one of the necessary steps to obtain the license for the urbanization works of UE-ZF-08-A, where the blue economy incubator subsidized by Feder Funds will be permanently located.
The modification of this plot began in 2020 and has required several urban planning figures such as the division of the unit, a detailed study, reparcelling project and urbanization project.
Incubazul is working provisionally in the interior facilities and actions are already being carried out to attract and energize projects in collaboration with Telefónica and the Incyde Foundation.
The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has obtained from the Cádiz City Council the initial approval of the urbanization project of the segregated execution unit UE-ZF-08-A, located in the outer polygon of the Free Zone that will house the Zona Base innovation and technological expansion center, with the blue economy incubator, Incubazul, subsidized with Feder Funds.
The process is being long and complex due to the urban planning modifications necessary to finally obtain the building permit that allows its construction. Thus, since the procedures began, definitive approvals have already been obtained from the Execution Unit division and the Detailed Study, while the Reparcelling Project has initial approval pending final approval, as does the Urbanization Project initially approved today. As soon as both urban planning figures obtain final approvals, the license can be granted and work on the important building can begin.
It should be remembered that the UE-ZF-08-A segregated execution unit corresponds to the one that belonged to the ancient Iberian AGA and on its ground will be developed base area, a technological space with modular structure with maritime containers that includes the implementation of the high-tech incubator linked to the Incubazul blue economy, subsidized with European funds in the frame to make Europe ”through the INCyde Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce.
While the urban planning procedures are being concluded, Zona Franca has put out to tender the works on the property so that the intervention can begin immediately upon obtaining the license to complete the building within the estimated time frame of 14 months. This building has a budget of 2.1 million euros.
In this context, Incubazul is already operating in temporary facilities in the Melkart building that will soon be moved to the Europa building to meet the demand for more space due to the foreseeable increase in incubates thanks to the currently open call and the collaboration of Telefónica, the company awarded the open competition for this purpose, which will put all its potential in the specialized services that will be offered in the incubator and that are aimed at the management and dynamization of the system of acceleration, mentoring and guidance of the projects.
The Base Zone urbanization project has been drawn up by the company Técnicas Gades S.L. and defines the treatment of roads according to the guidelines of the Urbanization Ordinance in terms of design criteria, materials, trees and street furniture, among others, that must be met by the urbanization works, which will act on an area of 7,091 m2.
It must be remembered that the implementation of the Zona Base project and its Blue Economy incubator represent a starting point for the global planning and development of the outer polygon and has required, from the beginning, a complex urban planning process that Zona Franca is promoting in collaboration with the City Council.
Along these lines, the Cádiz Base Zone project and its Blue Economy incubator were born to attract industry 4.0. and generate a space of opportunity for Cádiz talent.
