The patio of this facility, located in the Cádiz Tax Precinct, will continue to offer this public service during the month of February - and foreseeably March - to cover the needs derived from the sixth wave
The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz and the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) have agreed to extend until at least next February 28 the free transfer that the Consortium has made of the central patio of the Melkart building as an external Covid-19 vaccination point, where this service has been provided since last August.
Given the situation caused by the sixth wave and the need for the population to complete the vaccination schedule with the third dose, the Free Zone has responded to the request for an extension from the SAS – contemplated in the transfer agreement and which allows it to be extended for up to one more month, foreseeably also in March –, thus maintaining its line of institutional collaboration and its social commitment to the people of Cádiz, in an exercise of responsibility and support to continue helping as a Public Institution in the fight against the pandemic.
It should be noted that this vaccination point, with facilities enabled on the ground floor of the building of more than 1,150 m2, has two simultaneous inoculation lines, with uninterrupted hours from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day of the week.
Access to the vaccination point is exclusively pedestrian and only those people who have reduced mobility are being given access to vehicles in the tax area. In this sense, the Free Trade Zone and the SAS coordinated the entire device that is proceeding normally, with an area enabled for vaccination clearly delimited and signposted. With this, an ideal service is provided to citizens who come for vaccination, while at the same time trying to avoid causing inconvenience and harm to clients or users of the building and the premises.
The Melkart building is one of the best-known in the tax area for its emblematic central patio with garden areas of approximately 1,930 m2. It is located very close to the entrance control on Ronda de Vigilancia Avenue and its main façade faces Plaza del Melkart, next to Council of Europe Avenue.
In addition to collaborating with the vaccination point, the SAS rents several warehouses in the Free Trade Zone. It is a 4,261 m2 logistics warehouse in the interior area and that is used as a provincial logistics platform for the collection and distribution of medical supplies, a warehouse located in the 2,079 m2 outdoor industrial area where the laundry is located, and another that functions as a storage and distribution center for medical supplies against COVID-19 of just over 1,000 m2 in the fiscal area, in the area that belonged to Altadis.
The Territorial Delegation of Health and Families of Cádiz would like to thank the Consortium for its collaboration and willingness to maintain this device, which allows us to continue facilitating vaccination in the city of Cádiz.
