The company Construcciones Garrucho S.A. will carry out the work for an amount of 147,149.58 euros (VAT included) and a completion period of two months
The works will allow direct connection to the equipment of the old tobacco factory through ElCano and total integration with the historic site, eliminating the current unevenness.
In addition, it will result in improving the facilities of the Strait Maritime Group and the future Civil Guard Maritime Service Improvement Center, which announced a few days ago its location in the Altadis cross building.
The State delegate, Fran González, highlights that “with this new action, the Consortium continues to advance in the development of the Improvement Plan for its facilities to make the facility a more competitive and sustainable enclave that provides better service to operators and attracts new investments.”
The actions are being undertaken in phases and have a global investment of more than 1.5 million euros
The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has today awarded the works for the total integration of the Altadis area with the historic tax precinct, with the creation of a new access through the ElCano entrance, in a new step within the comprehensive Modernization Plan that has been undertaken in the Cádiz Tax Precinct since last spring.
The company Construcciones Garrucho S.A. will be in charge of undertaking the work for an amount of 147,149.58 euros (VAT included) and with a completion period of two months. The tender, opened in November, included assessment criteria on environmental waste management; quality control of the work; and occupational health and safety plan, among others.
This action will result in improving the competitiveness of the Tax Precinct facilities since it will allow the direct entry and exit of vehicles and pedestrians with the improvement of the connections inside. Therefore, total permeability is achieved between the spaces of the old tobacco factory – incorporated as a fiscal precinct in 2015 – and the rest of the precinct, with the elimination of the current unevenness between the spaces. In turn, horizontal signage and the generation of new parking spaces will be carried out, eliminating buildings and disused elements in adjacent areas.
Asimismo, hay que destacar que esta mejora supone un valor añadido a la instalación del Grupo Marítimo del Estrecho y del futuro Centro de Perfeccionamiento del Servicio Marítimo de la Guardia Civil, que anunciaron hace unas semanas su instalación en el denominado edificio en cruz del antiguo centro tabaquero.
Las obras del nuevo acceso se van a solapar en su inicio con las ya muy avanzadas del reasfaltado de la avenida Consejo de Europa y zonas adyacentes del recinto, que cuentan con una inversión de 153.757,32 euros (IVA incluido) y que también está ejecutando la empresa Garrucho.
En este sentido, el delegado del Estado en la Zona Franca de Cádiz, Fran González ha destacado que el Consorcio sigue dando pasos en la línea de optimizar sus instalaciones “de cara a hacer del recinto fiscal un enclave más competitivo y sostenible que dé un mejor servicio a los operadores y atraiga nuevas inversiones”.
Los avances del Plan de Modernización
Con esta adjudicación, el Consorcio aborda una nueva fase del citado Plan de Modernización de las instalaciones y servicios del Recinto Fiscal que inició la pasada primavera, con un presupuesto global superior a los 1,5 millones de euros (IVA incluido) y con el objetivo de hacer de este espacio logístico un enclave competitivo que ofrezca un mejor servicio a los actuales operadores y, al mismo tiempo, favorezca la llegada de nuevas inversiones.
In addition to the resurfacing works already started, within the Modernization Plan, improvements have also been carried out in the hydraulic infrastructure and two phases of improving the electrical infrastructure have already been undertaken, actions that were included in the collaboration protocol signed with the Cádiz City Council and which included actions with Aguas de Cádiz and Eléctrica de Cádiz, respectively.
Likewise, the cleaning of difficult-to-access areas and the painting of numerous equipment and signage have been carried out, as well as some spaces have already been optimized that have allowed new parking spaces to be created on the premises, offering improvements to companies and customers.
The Altadis area is one of the spaces that concentrates the greatest investment within the Improvement Plan, with the development of some of its buildings such as the aforementioned cross building and the updating of the video surveillance system, whose project is already being completed. This new system will be equipped with the latest advances in this matter and will be integrated and connected to the entire facility. In fact, this project draws on the experience acquired for the launch of the new Bahía de Algeciras tax facility, whose surveillance system has been worked on in coordination with the Civil Guard and Customs and incorporates the latest technological advances to customs work. In this area, the Consortium has already installed an exit barrier at the main Civil Guard control, which was not available and which facilitates the security work typical of a tax facility.
Fuera ya de la zona de Altadis, una de las obras más novedosas contemplada en el Plan de Mejora es la instalación de una electrolinera frente a la plaza de los edificios Melkart y Heracles. Los trabajos están ya muy avanzados e incluso se está ya culminando la cubierta de los cuatro puntos para la recarga de las baterías de los vehículos eléctricos que darán cobertura a las empresas instaladas, sus plantillas, clientes y usuarios del recinto, a los que se le va a dar un nuevo servicio con valor añadido, más responsable y respetuoso con el medioambiente.
