Once the tender for the work of this new fiscal and logistical space has been approved, a delegation from the Consortium carries out a technical visit to the Colonel Chief of the Algeciras Civil Guard Command to define the agreement that will regulate the surveillance control system and security mechanisms
It must be remembered that the new fiscal precinct will be a milestone in the integration of new technologies applied to surveillance and access control systems, parameters on which work has also been done in coordination with the Customs Demarcation.
A delegation from the management team of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone today made a technical visit to the Colonel Chief of Command of the Civil Guard of Algeciras, Francisco Almansa, to coordinate and specify the details of the surveillance control system and other security measures that are included in the Execution Project of the new Bahía de Algeciras Tax Precinct.
The Free Zone thus continues with the planning of the implementation of the facility since this meeting takes place just a week after the Executive Committee of the Free Zone approved the adaptation and improvement work of this new fiscal and customs space in the Campo de Gibraltar Region.
The objective of this technical visit has been to maintain close collaboration with the Civil Guard to go hand in hand in everything related to the security of the new tax precinct, which will be under their charge just as it is in the Cádiz tax precinct. In fact, just the design of the entry and exit flows of transport with ample space for traffic management and supervision by the Civil Guard represents a before and after in this type of premises, to which is added the application of telematic techniques for control and monitoring of goods that will favor the work of both the Civil Guard corps and the Customs technicians.
It should be noted that as it is the last fiscal facility approved in Spain, its design already approved and included in the Execution Project was also carried out jointly between the Cádiz Free Trade Zone and the Customs Demarcation with the aim of integrating new communication technologies into customs work, forming a project that represents a milestone in the concept of surveillance and supervision. Thus, among the works that will be undertaken, the replacement and expansion of the current perimeter fence (2,132 linear meters) stands out; the creation of a surveillance patrol, of the same length of the fence, which includes the surveillance control system, thermal cameras, lighting and other security measures.
Along these lines, the work also includes the remodeling of the access road with the incorporation of two roundabouts, the execution of the aforementioned access controls and license plate reader systems.
All of these works are included in the base tender budget for the work, which amounts to 2,496,192.36 euros (VAT not included), of which a part is allocated to civil works (1,593,714.09 euros, VAT not included), while the remaining amount will be for installations (902,478 euros, VAT not included).
Remember that the start of the work, whose execution period is 8 months, is conditional on obtaining the municipal license that will be granted after the final approval of the two detailed studies that the Free Trade Zone presented last August and that is being processed by the Los Barrios City Council.
The Bahía de Algeciras Tax Precinct is one of the priority projects of the Free Zone in the province of Cádiz, in the context of the Comprehensive Plan of the Government of Spain for the Campogibraltar Region of November 2018, when “the creation of a free zone of 130,000 m was already mentioned.2 in Los Barrios.”
