The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz and the Chambers of Andalusia join forces in favor of the small and medium-sized Andalusian business network

The delegate of the Consortium, Fran González, and the president of the CAC, Javier Sánchez, sign in Seville a protocol of intentions that establishes lines of collaboration to promote joint marketing and internationalization actions that promote business opportunities in Cádiz and the entire region

Both entities are committed to improving the competitiveness of Cadiz and Andalusian SMEs through the wide range of logistical, industrial and business projects and equipment of the Cadiz Consortium.

The agreement is part of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone plan to add potential with other institutions that result in attracting investments, strengthening companies and creating jobs.

Among the lines of collaboration, the joint participation in commercial missions abroad and commercial conferences stands out, with special attention to the promotion of logistics spaces for SMEs.

Institutional collaboration is essential to promote the economic growth of Cádiz and all of Andalusia. With this conviction, the State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, and the president of the Chambers of Commerce of Andalusia, Javier Sánchez, signed this morning at the chamber headquarters in Seville a protocol of intentions that represents the firing of the gun exit to carry out a joint work plan in favor of strengthening the business fabric, fundamentally small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), through the implementation of commercial actions and other lines of work that result in opportunities for companies in the province of Cádiz and throughout Andalusia.

The signing ceremony was also attended by the presidents of the Chambers of Commerce of Cádiz and Campo de Gibraltar, Ángel Juan Pascual and Carlos Fenoy, respectively.

The signing of this protocol is part of the management line of the Cádiz Consortium aimed at promoting the Cádiz Free Trade Zone and its offer of assets, resources and services beyond the province of Cádiz, in order to improve the access capacity of companies to all their opportunities. The Chambers are, in this sense, a strategic ally since it has an important regional implementation through the different territorial chambers and with external projection that can help identify the needs between companies and, in parallel, the business opportunities offered by the Free Zone, thus creating synergies that improve the implementation and consolidation of companies.

In this sense, Javier Sánchez Rojas recalled that the vocation and leitmotiv of the Chambers of Commerce is to provide services to companies, and to provide everything that results in their progress, expansion and promotion. We have done it in periods of prosperity and tranquility, and much more so in times of scarcity and depression like the one that has shaken us in this last year.”

For his part, the Free Trade Zone delegate has expressed his satisfaction with the signed protocol, which once again demonstrates the Cádiz Free Trade Zone's commitment to cooperation and joint work as the key to success in achieving projects. Fran González has highlighted that it is essential to "take advantage of the potential of the Cádiz Free Zone and its two tax precincts, the historic one in Cádiz capital and the Bahía de Algeciras, in the countryside of Gibraltar, because they are undoubtedly an opportunity for the member companies of the chambers of commerce in their economic work. The synergies between both entities will result in the economic development of Andalusia

The protocol also highlights the development of lines of collaboration around strategic sectors such as logistic-port and the innovation y technology, among which stand out projects developed by the Cádiz Free Trade Zone such as the new Bahía de Algeciras fiscal precinct with 130,000 m2, with tax and customs advantages to favor import-export commercial operations and attract investments linked to the activity of the large port of Algeciras; or the innovation project called Zona Base, which in its first phase develops a high-tech incubator around the Blue Economy and which has European financing through funds granted by the Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain Feder 2014-2020 “A way of making Europe” and managed by the Incyde Foundation.

Along with these two strategic projects, the Free Trade Zone also makes available to the Cádiz and Andalusian business community business centers, business buildings and industrial land and warehouses throughout the province, a wide range of opportunity spaces that allow it to adapt to the demand of SMEs and also provide coverage to large companies or industries. The objective is that any company that wants to start its activity or expand its facilities has the possibility of doing so among the different facilities that the Free Zone has.

Likewise, other lines of joint work included in the agreement between both entities are the development of conferences, seminars, commercial actions and meetings that show SMEs the advantages and opportunities of the Free Zone, with the presentation of good practices at the European level; participation in cooperation projects with European funding that encourage the implementation of SMEs in logistics spaces with a port vocation; the preparation of studies and analysis of advantages and bonuses for the implementation of SMEs in logistics spaces; and the development of networking meetings together with other institutions to coordinate the demands of the SME sector with the offer of Free Zone spaces.

The Free Trade Zone has reinforced its Commercial Area and is interested in enhancing its external image with the aim of also attracting international investments within a new Marketing Plan, mainly to the Bahía de Algeciras tax area, with the aim of installing driving companies that serve as a boost to small and medium-sized companies. In this sense, the Chambers of Commerce are collaborators since they are intermediate organizations of Structural Funds (ERDF), and they manage various programs to promote foreign action in which the Consortium is interested in receiving information and being able to participate through the chamber entities.

In this context, the Consortium and the CAC will jointly develop the design and organization of informative events of a business nature, generally aimed at disseminating Free Zone projects with the objective of attracting demand from potential users of the facilities.

With the protocol signed today, the Cádiz Free Trade Zone underpins its Marketing Plan, in which collaboration and joint work with different administrations, entities and socioeconomic agents are essential to respond to the true needs of companies.
