The Executive Committee approves the global intervention of the network that will allow the incorporation into the Aguas de Cádiz sanitation network

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone has carried out a plan to renovate and adapt the hydraulic infrastructure of the interior area with the aim of guaranteeing the best environmental conditions of the facilities. These improvement actions have been ratified by the Executive Committee meeting today and will allow the Consortium to incorporate its sanitation network into the Aguas de Cádiz network.
The action carried out, with a cost of 60,000 euros, involves a modernization of the networks that will have a positive impact on companies located in the fiscal space, which will gain greater quality in the facilities offered by the Free Trade Zone, especially those located near the port area where the result of the entire operation will be more relevant.
The actions have consisted of carrying out an environmental audit, installing probes in the pumping stations and sample manholes that allow the monitoring of parameters, especially the salinity of the water, so that the indicators can be monitored. In addition, the separating network has been reinforced to prevent leaks that increase salinity, which is the main problem of the installation.
In this context, like the Consortium, each of the industries and companies established in the fiscal area must comply with the corresponding technical requirements, such as continuous measurement systems.
With the improvement in hydraulic infrastructure and the agreement with Aguas de Cádiz, the Free Trade Zone wants to guarantee its environmental commitment, in line with its line of work framed in sustainability and the blue and green economy that it is imprinting on its management, with the premise that without effective environmental management the negative impact even reverts to the working conditions of the workers and users of the tax area.
