The land that belonged to Ibérica Aga will be a place for the implementation of innovative companies and for technological expansion
Pre-marketing will begin with the installation of a pilot container and a customer service line that will capture real demand to adjust the final product to the companies' needs.
Base Zone. This is the name of the business space that Zona Franca de Cádiz is developing in the outer industrial area of the Cadiz capital, on the site that belonged to Ibérica Aga. The brand gives its name to what is going to be a center of innovation and technological expansion and aims to transfer the best of Cádiz, all its potential, to the business sector.
The creation of the brand is part of the pre-marketing process in which Zona Franca is already working together with three Cadiz companies, as part of the commitment to involve the province's technological and digital sector in this project. This pre-marketing will serve to capture the real needs of future customers and adapt the final product to real demand.
The target audience for Zona Base are technological and innovative companies (design, online commerce, animation, virtual reality...). Next week, interested parties will have a pilot container that shows all the features of the project. At the same time, a customer service will be launched in the coming weeks with a telephone number and an email that will collect opinions and suggestions through a survey so that the project is built according to the demand of potential clients. The Free Trade Zone website (www.zonafrancacadiz.com) will publish all the information about this project.
The brand has been designed by the Cádiz company Rebombo, which wanted to convey with the name “Zona Base” the spirit of a project that aims to be a “base of ideas” for technological and digital entrepreneurs; and also as “the base of the future” of Cádiz.
The Destino Studio company, located in San Fernando, is completing the design of the virtual tour of the space of the Ibérica Aga plot, and the interior of the maritime containers, which will help the pre-marketing process.
This virtual tour will also be projected on the pilot container that can be visited in the coming days. The company Tincasur, based in Puerto Real, is working on the design and manufacture of this pilot container. It will reflect a new model for the implementation of companies, located in maritime containers, with shared space in which the ground floor is dedicated to work and the upper floor, as a housing unit.
In this way, Zona Base was born with companies from Cádiz for its implementation from the beginning. The objective is to continue counting on companies from the province to add a common project, in which the image of excellence, strength and innovation existing in the province of Cádiz is reinforced.
The Consortium is developing a different economic space aimed at innovation companies, a productive space where innovative and technological companies have a place in prefabricated buildings that easily adapt to the needs of entrepreneurs, which will completely change the appearance of this area of the city and will serve as an example and pilot experience for the rest of the outer polygon.
The spirit of the project covers a double line. On the one hand, offer space adapted to their needs to technological entrepreneurs, who require a small number of square meters for their work, but with an environment that enables an entrepreneurial ecosystem that favors synergies. On the other hand, promote the elimination of the digital divide in Cádiz and achieve new job opportunities.
The executive committee of the Free Zone gave the green light on January 29 to the tender for the works necessary to carry out this action, with a budget of 519,361.02 euros (VAT not included) and an execution period of 4 months , on a total area of 10,049 m2, in what will be the first link in the recovery of the outer polygon of the Free Zone.
The work includes the repair of the protected building, an international style building built in 1968 with a surface area of 1,225 m2 and included in the Catalog of Architectural Heritage of the PGOU of Cádiz, and which is very deteriorated.
