The colloquium has been the starting point of this forum, the largest European functional programming event
The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Victoria Rodríguez, participated this morning in the round table “The technology sector as a future and sustainability in the Bay of Cádiz”, which served as the opening of Lambda World, an important forum that stands out for being the largest European functional programming event.
In her speech, the person in charge of the Free Trade Zone highlighted the Institution's role as a promoter of the business fabric, with spaces that perfectly respond to the needs of young professionals with a technological profile, such as those attending Lambda World. Likewise, she highlighted that there is increasingly more demand and more companies of this type are installed in the Free Zone facilities and she has been convinced that “Technology is no longer an option but an obligation.”
Victoria Rodríguez has also emphasized the importance of internationalization "and for this we have a fundamental tool, the Free Zone and its customs and tax advantages, the ideal formula to make companies more competitive."
In this sense, Rodríguez has highlighted that Zona Franca is working on a innovative high profile in the outdoor area, such as creating the Free Trade Zone plot in Ibérica-AGA and innovative space for entrepreneurs, with environmentally friendly architecture. “We want it to be a place of entrepreneurship, attractive to young entrepreneurs, to be a pilot project that gives dynamism and favors the economic growth of the city from sustainability and looking to the future.”
The Free Trade Zone delegate expressed her belief that the new technology industry is a rising sector and Cádiz must be aware and take advantage of the opportunity, just as happened in the past with tourism, when the province knew how to see the right moment to develop sustainable and profitable tourism.
Victoria Rodríguez has been part of the committee of ambassadors for this fourth edition, together with the mayor of Cádiz, José María González; the mayor of San Fernando, Patricia Cavada; the Employment representative, Ana Carrera; the Territorial delegate of Economy and Employment, Gema Pérez; the director of the International area and the director of the Business Creation area of the Chamber of Commerce, Manuel Alvarez and José Manuel Cossi, respectively; and the general director of Employment and Entrepreneurship of the University of Cádiz, Luis López Molina.
The Lambda World brings together more than 600 attendees from different countries in Cádiz and will take place on October 25 and 26 at the Cadiz Congress Palace.
