The Plenary Session of the Cádiz Free Zone Consortium has approved in the meeting that took place this morning to create an item of 4 million euros and include it in the preliminary draft budget for 2019 to reactivate the development of the outer enclosure of the Free Zone, a project that is marked as a priority by the new State delegate, Victoria Rodríguez, and her team.

This amount, corresponding to the item called Rehabilitation and consolidation actions of the exterior enclosure, It has been able to be included in time despite the fact that the preliminary draft budget is continuous and was prepared when Victoria Rodríguez came to office. In fact, in the previous two years there was no amount for this matter.

Victoria Rodríguez thus reaffirms her commitment and firm will to carry out the rehabilitation of the outdoor area. Zona Franca is already studying a project and its feasibility study and it is expected that steps will be taken this fall, always in the hands of the Executive Committee and the Plenary Session.

The Free Trade Zone delegate has already expressed her intention to reactivate the project, which she described as a great challenge and a great opportunity for the people of Cádiz, alluding to the importance and need for cooperation and collaboration between administrations.

Victoria Rodríguez has already contacted the City Council to address this issue and took the opportunity to suggest some measures that could facilitate not only the work of the Free Zone, but also that of private owners, indicating as an example the possibility of dividing the execution units of the General Plan into smaller ones.

Zona Franca works with the idea of generating a space for entrepreneurship, an area of employment generation for young people that provides dynamism and benefits the productive and social fabric of the city of Cádiz.
