The initial approval of the Specific Modification of the General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) was carried out by the plenary session of the Algeciras City Council on October 31, 2014, with a series of points that had to be incorporated, especially in reference to the solution for accesses with the junction that Carreteras del Estado is processing in the Southern Access.
The document presented by Zona Franca to the City Council, prepared by the architect Luis Modet Vaughan, already includes all the details related to what is required by the Highway Demarcation, so the Consortium is awaiting final approval that will allow it to proceed to draft the land development project and begin work for the development of this 125,000 m2 industrial site, which is in high demand by the area's business community.
Framed in the ambitious expansion and expansion project in which the Cádiz Free Trade Zone is working, it and the Algeciras City Council maintain close collaboration to carry out the development of a tax and customs facility in the city that will also complement the Port of the Bay of Algeciras and will form a large area with productive spaces for the implementation of new companies and the attraction of investments, which generate economic activity and employment for the area.
