The Free Trade Zone delegate supervised the work that will modernize the 300 m facilities2 in the building attached to the so-called PPL of the old Altadis
The works have been awarded for an amount of 104,347.76 euros (VAT not included) to the company Manzano Constructions SL
The Special Delegate of the State in the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, visited last Monday the adaptation works of the offices that the Alestis company will occupy and which are located on the ground floor of the building attached to the so-called league preparation plant (PPL) in the old Altadis facilities in Cádiz, integrated as a tax facility since last March.
The works, which began last week by the company Construcciones Francisco Manzano SL for an award amount of 104,347.76 euros (VAT not included), have a completion period of a month and a half.
Ramos checked the progress of the work, which will be completed at the end of July since this equipment will house the offices of the logistics center that Alestis is going to install in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone, which will also occupy 13,500 m2 plant where it will concentrate the three facilities that it currently has dispersed in Seville and Cádiz.
The works will modernize and adapt spaces that are more than 25 years old to new uses and needs, as the offices are obsolete and deteriorated after the passage of time and years without use.
It should be remembered that the Free Trade Zone put out to tender the works on May 12 with a bidding budget of 132,085.77 euros (VAT not included) and seven companies entered the competition.
In parallel to these works, Zona Franca is also carrying out the beginning of the physical integration of the Altadis lands with the Zona Franca, with the demolition of part of the fence that separates them; and in a few days the adaptation works will begin on the aforementioned League Preparation Plant (PPL) that Alestis will occupy and which needs improvements such as the adaptation of the loading docks or the repair of roofs, among other actions.
With Alestis there will now be two companies installed on the land of the former tobacco factory and which already make up the Cádiz tax area, which has grown to 330,000 m2 a 486.881 m2 of surface with all the customs and fiscal advantages inherent to the Free Zone.
The expansion of the tax area has been the result of an intense and complex processing process, starting from the decision to expand and expand the Free Trade Zone in Cádiz and the province and once the Consortium acquired the land from the former tobacco company in June 2015.
With all this, the Cádiz tax area has become an important business and industrial focus for attracting investments to the Bay, providing new productive spaces with customs and tax advantages to favor the establishment of new companies.
