Technical meeting to advance the development of a new business center in San Roque

Members of the Zona Franca management team and the mayor of San Roque and municipal technicians analyze the necessary procedures to locate the new equipment in the Diego Salinas Building, which is property of the Junta de Andalucía

The Free Trade Zone delegation visited the building, of more than 3,000 m2, to evaluate all the options for its rehabilitation and conversion into a business center with the characteristics of those carried out by the Consortium in the province

A delegation from the management team of the Zona Franca de Cádiz held a meeting yesterday morning with the mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, and municipal technicians to advance the procedures for the development of a business center of more than 3,000 m2 in the municipality, specifically in the Diego Salinas Building.

During the visit, the directors of the Cádiz Consortium José Manuel Fedriani, Project Manager; Ignacio Díaz, general technical coordinator; Javier Gutiérrez, Commercial Director; and Felipe Martínez, architect of the Infrastructure Department, took the opportunity to visit the building's facilities and thus assess all the possible options for its future rehabilitation and conversion into a business center with all the characteristics of those carried out by Zona Franca in other municipalities of the province such as Algeciras, Cádiz, Jerez, Vejer, Arcos or Chiclana. The building is an old military barracks located in the Plaza de las Constituciones in San Roque, property of the Junta de Andalucía, so it is necessary to study in detail how to proceed with the transfer, which could be through sale or concession to the Free Trade Zone by the Andalusian Government.

In fact, it is worth remembering that the delegate of the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of San Roque have held several meetings in recent weeks to develop this initiative and both have committed to carrying out contacts with Heritage of the Junta de Andalucía to analyze the terms in which the procedures can be carried out.

With this new business center, very necessary for the municipality of San Roque because it would be an important focus of generating economic activity, Zona Franca would now have 16 facilities of this type operational throughout the province, with more than 70,000 m2 of facilities that provide response and coverage to the business and entrepreneurial fabric of the entire province.
