The Free Trade Zone delegate presented a book on Customs Law and Special Taxes at the SIL in Barcelona

Jorge Ramos's intervention was part of the 17th Free Zones and Warehouses Conference, in which the delegate of the Vigo Free Zone, Teresa Pedrosa, and the director of Customs and Special Taxes, María Pilar Jurado, also participated.

The Free Trade Zone delegate valued the great work carried out by the authors of the publication, which he described as a fundamental tool for professionals in the sector and all those related to foreign trade.

This edition, which has the slogan “18 years at the service of Logistics”, was attended by more than 600 participants.

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, participated yesterday morning in the 17th Free Zones and Warehouses Conference, which once again is held within the framework of the official program of the International Logistics Exhibition (SIL) of Barcelona, organized by the Barcelona Free Zone Consortium.

Jorge Ramos was in charge of the presentation of the book “Jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union relating to Customs and Excise Law”, by the authors, Treasury inspectors Javier del Olmo Azcona, Javier Zazo Esteban and Belén Miravet Fuster, together with the delegate of the Vigo Free Trade Zone, Teresa Pedrosa, and the director of the Customs and Excise Department, María Pilar Jurado Borrego.

The delegate of the Cádiz Free Zone described the book as a fundamental and basic guide to address Customs Law in the EU in a single publication and in a condensed manner and added that it is essential for an organization such as a free zone to have an instrument like this publication, which explains in detail "very complex concepts for those people not familiar with the subject, at the same time that it is a very useful tool for professionals in the sector by having the aforementioned concepts compiled in a single work."

Jorge Ramos valued the great work carried out by the authors, since it compiles all the jurisprudence of the European Union applied to the customs sector, which results in the strengthening of commercial exchanges with abroad, in the increase of economic activity, and industrial development and, fundamentally, in the generation of employment.

Jorge Ramos took advantage of the SIL to highlight the work carried out by the Cádiz Free Trade Zone which, with its expansion and expansion project already underway, is going to become a great productive focus in a place like Cádiz, which enjoys a strategic location, with multiple benefits for companies that establish themselves in its facilities.

After the speakers' intervention in the presentation, a round table took place in which attendees could hear the opinions of members of the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium, Ateia-Oltra or the Council of Customs Agents Associations, among others.

The Barcelona International Logistics Show has this as its slogan “18 years at the service of Logistics”, which highlights the leadership of the Show in Spain, the Mediterranean and Southern Europe, while reinforcing its international character.

The SIL is an important meeting point and reference for the sector, with the participation this year of 600 companies and the forecast - as in previous editions - of thousands of visitors who for three days will attend conferences, round tables, networking, and colloquiums that make the SIL an essential event for the sector. This edition is going to be the most international of those held to date, since more than 45% of the participating companies are foreign.
