The Consortium presents the document for provisional and, where appropriate, definitive approval, once the access to the polygon at its confluence with the South Access of the Port has been agreed upon with the Algeciras City Council and the State Highway Demarcation.
The presentation of this document culminates several months of work in which technicians from the Free Trade Zone, City Hall and Highway Demarcation have studied and, finally, combined interests in a technical proposal that fits the access and links to the future fiscal precinct with the layout of the South Access to the Port.
The progress in the entire process related to the Specific Modification of the PGOU aims for the new facility to be a reality in 2017, for which it is necessary to urgently address the urbanization works and external surveillance enclosure of the fiscal and customs free zone.
The Free Zone and the City of Algeciras maintain a close collaboration to carry out the development of a fiscal and customs enclosure of more than 150,000 m2 in the city that, in addition, will complement the port of the Bay of Algeciras and will form a large area with productive spaces for the implementation of new companies and the attraction of investments, which generate economic activity and employment for the area.
