Free Trade Zone puts out to tender the works to demolish part of the fence that separates the old Altadis from the tax precinct

The purpose of the work is to achieve permeability and truck traffic between the old tobacco factory plot and the Free Trade Zone.

The works have a budget of 109,679.39 euros (VAT not included) and an execution period of two months

Yesterday morning, the Cádiz Free Trade Zone put out to tender the necessary works to begin the integration of the lands of the former Altadis with the fiscal precinct, to which it has already been incorporated after authorization by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations last March.

The objective of the works is to achieve permeability and traffic between the plot of the old tobacco factory and the Free Trade Zone, with the demolition of part of the fence that separates both spaces. With this, the entry and exit of trucks will also be possible, necessary for the activity to be carried out by future users of the facilities.

This action has a budget of 109,679.39 euros (VAT not included) and an execution period of two months.

With this work and the one also tendered yesterday to adapt offices on the ground of the land incorporated into the tax precinct, Zona Franca advances in phase I of the procedures to materialize the expansion of its facilities in Cádiz, where it has formed an important business and industrial focus with 486,881 m2, with the addition of 156,881 m2 at 330,000 m2 that made up its historic customs facility. Subsequently, the perimeter fence will be completed, the connection of supplies to the Consortium network, the evacuation network and the surveillance system, among others, will be addressed.

It is worth remembering that of the 156,881 m2 incorporated, 106,355 m2 were acquired from Altadis in June 2015, in addition to 38,707 m2 that it already had its own Free Trade Zone in that area and that they were leased to the tobacco company; and 11,819.45 m2 coming from the concession of the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz, after the signing of the agreement with the Free Trade Zone in August of last year.
