The delegate of the Free Zone conveyed to the provincial deputy his complete willingness for the Consortium to actively participate in the celebration and they even agreed to appoint a representative of the Free Zone to be part of the technical commission that will define the central axes of the tricentennial and its actions.
Although it first began to operate in Seville, by Royal Order of May 12, 1717 and due to the importance that Cádiz was acquiring, which was the head of the Indies fleet, Felipe V decided to transfer the Casa de Contratación to the port of Cadiz, despite the reluctance and claims of the Sevillian authorities.
