Only the Final Approval of the Specific Modification of the General Urban Planning Plan and its registration in the Registry of Urban Planning Instruments of the Community is pending so that the Barreño City Council can grant the corresponding works licenses.

This procedure is the only one that is delaying the installation of companies in the 140,000 m tax area.2 Free Trade Zone in El Fresno
A total of 6 offers have already been submitted for installation in this industrial space, with a total planned investment of more than 35 million euros.
The Free Trade Zone of Cádiz has requested the Los Barrios City Council to urge the Andalusian Government for the Definitive Approval of the Specific Modification of the General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) of Los Barrios, an essential requirement to obtain the construction licenses for the construction of the facilities that will be occupied by the companies that have already requested to establish themselves in the El Fresno Tax Precinct, within the large expansion project of the Cádiz Consortium to the province.
The modification of the PGOU was presented by the Public Agency for Ports of Andalusia (APPA), dependent on the Board itself, and was agreed upon by the Free Trade Zone and the Barrio Consistory to be able to develop these lands. One of the steps was already taken on January 27 when the Advisory Council of Andalusia issued the favorable opinion on the Specific Modification of the aforementioned modification, so only the Final Approval is pending, as well as the registration of the Specific Modification of the PGOU in the Registry of Urban Planning Instruments of the Autonomous Community and the publication of the definitive approval in the Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA), at which time it will acquire finality and validity of the modification. From that moment on, the Los Barrios City Council will have legal coverage to be able to proceed with the granting of construction licenses for the projects already presented to be installed in El Fresno: A logistics center -located on the PLT1 plot, measuring 44,439 m2, y contempla la construcción de un conjunto de tres naves industriales formado por nave frigorífica; nave seca; y nave talleres, así como un edificio para puesto de Inspección Fronteriza- y una industria dedicada a la elaboración, almacenamiento y distribución de productos del mar –ubicada en la PLT2 de 6.500 m2–. Además, a la Oferta Pública abierta por el Consorcio se presentaron otras tres empresas que quieren implantarse en este espacio industrial y que son de sectores Alimentario y Distribución.
Although the Free Trade Zone has been streamlining the procedures in recent months to be able to tender the works as soon as possible, this slowness in the approval process of the Specific Modification of the PGOU is delaying the development of the 140,000 m2 that the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz acquired a little over a year ago from the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia to implement a tax facility with the consequent customs and tax advantages for the companies installed there.
The six companies mentioned demand a total area of 70,000 m2 and they have an investment of more than 35 million euros and a forecast of creating more than 400 jobs.
