The representatives of the three organizations have discussed the layout of the South Access, an important step for the Site that will be located on the land of Cortijo Real
Jorge Ramos stated that the South Access favorably affects the Free Trade Zone project in Cortijo Real, since it will allow for new access to the port.
The special delegate of the State in the Free Trade Zone in Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, the mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, the head of the State Highway Demarcation in Western Andalusia, Rodríguez Vázquez, and technicians from the organizations held a meeting yesterday in Algeciras to continue advancing in the layout of the Southern Access and the project of the tax and customs premises of the Free Trade Zone in the Cortijo Real.
Jorge Ramos stated that the South Access favorably affects the Free Trade Zone project in Cortijo Real, since it will allow for a new access to the port and the permeability of transit and transportation from the port to the future fiscal and customs area that is projected.
He therefore highlighted the importance of the meeting held, in which the impact of the urban planning of the Free Zone project with the layout of the South Access was discussed, in order to unite interests. In this regard, Ramos stated that the Free Zone technicians are going to prepare a technical proposal to perfectly fit the accesses and links they need with those of the Southern Access.
Landaluce, for his part, explained that the purpose of the meeting was “to try to bring together in this great infrastructure that is the Southern Access the interests of the Ministry of Public Works with those of the city and the Free Trade Zone so that this great fiscal complex that will generate many jobs can be built.”
The mayor thanked the head of Highways and the head of the Free Trade Zone for their efforts in coming to Algeciras to participate in this technical meeting and "allowing the progress of a project that has been trying to find solutions for 30 years and that is now, little by little, being achieved."
