Antonio Sanz and the State delegate, Jorge Ramos, inaugurated the rehabilitated Atlas Building of the Interior Campus
The Government delegate congratulated the head of the Consortium for the work carried out in recent years and the important business infrastructure created
Jorge Ramos explained the technical details of the work and encouraged businessmen to take advantage of the advantages of the Free Trade Zone and the quality of its facilities.
The delegate of the Government in Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, and the delegate of the State in the Free Zone, Jorge Ramos, have inaugurated this morning the rehabilitation of the Atlas Building, located on Avenida Consejo de Europa in the Interior Precinct of the Free Zone.
Along these lines, Antonio Sanz thanked Zona Franca for its work in recent years for “having become an excellent entrepreneurial ecosystem to facilitate local and foreign entrepreneurship, new business initiatives and in addition to strengthening the Cádiz industry and being a focus of attraction for new investors.”
During his speech, the Government delegate in Andalusia highlighted that the renovation carried out in the Atlas Building is nothing more than an example of the profound transformation that the Free Zone of Cádiz has experienced in the last four years, with a Tax Precinct filled to 98% that makes necessary the expansion and expansion project that this Institution is currently developing and that reflects that companies are committed to the Free Zone of Cádiz, which he congratulated for their confidence in the Consortium.
Antonio Sanz highlighted the importance of the support of the Government of Spain to the Free Zone in its work to create the business and industrial infrastructure that it has carried out in the last four years and congratulated Jorge Ramos for the work carried out and his constant support for entrepreneurs that results in the creation of companies and therefore new jobs.
The State delegate in the Free Zone, for his part, explained the technical details of the work and the investment made in a building that had become obsolete since its construction was carried out in 1991.
In addition, Jorge Ramos reviewed the business centers that the Consortium has in Cádiz and other municipalities in the province and that have opened in recent weeks in Algeciras, Jerez, Arcos or Vejer, in addition to the Cádiz Casino, which is already 100% occupied.
He also described the recently inaugurated business incubators in Ubrique and Los Barrios, which have been done in collaboration with the chambers of commerce and the Incyde Foundation, and stressed the importance of institutional collaboration for the benefit of companies and economic activity.
The rehabilitation of this Business Center in the heart of the Interior Campus has made it possible to adapt the facilities of the Atlas Building to the characteristics and comfort of other nearby buildings executed by the Consortium, such as the Heracles or the Europa, inaugurated in 2013 and emblem of the business centers of the Free Zone, for its design and modernity at the service of the Cádiz business fabric, which has resulted in the 100% occupation of all its available spaces.
The work on this business center, which began in mid-December, has been carried out by the company Nacimiento, Infraestructuras y Medioambiente S.L. for an amount of 485,293.11 euros (VAT not included) and has been co-financed by funds requested within the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013.
The work carried out has included the replacement of the façade cladding, as well as the enclosing structure of the staircase, which had lost its insulating properties over the years. The air conditioning system and the automatic control system of the facilities have also been replaced, LED lighting and photovoltaic panels have been installed, among other improvements.
