The Cádiz Free Trade Zone was present yesterday at the Business Success Awards in Cádiz awarded by the prestigious magazine Actualidad Económica in an event held at the Cajasol Foundation in the capital of Cádiz. The Chief of Staff of the Free Trade Zone, Tania Barcelona, ​​who was also part of the jury, attended on behalf of the State delegate, Jorge Ramos, who could not attend the event due to scheduling problems.

The Government delegate in Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, presented one of the awards and collected the award for Best Public Initiative for the Constitution Bridge of 1812, a category to which the Cádiz Free Trade Zone was also nominated for its large expansion project to the entire province of Cádiz.

The Best Entrepreneur Award went to Tomás and Ignacio Osborne, president and CEO respectively of the firm that bears their name, while Acerinox won the award for Best Business Career and the award for Best Business Initiative went to Cepsa, a benchmark in Cádiz for half a century.

The Innovation award went to Ingemation Engineering, a firm installed in the Cádiz Free Zone since its birth in 2010 and that carries out work for large clients in the naval, energy and telecommunications sectors.

The jury also recognized the work of the Bionaturis group, an international benchmark in the development of biological medicines based in Jerez, while the Association of Fashion and Leather Accessories Companies of Ubrique (Empiel), with more than three decades behind it defending the work of artisans in the area, collected the award for Best International Strategy.

Finally, the jury also wanted to recognize the Association of Large Industries of the Campo de Gibraltar (AGI) with the Job Creation Award. With its 16,700 workers, including direct, auxiliary and induced positions, the number of workers grew by 3% in 2014.

The awards ceremony, which was attended by a good number of authorities, political and business representatives such as the president of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Cádiz, Javier Sánchez Rojas, the subdelegate of the Government, Javier de Torre, the president of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Cádiz (AJE), Jesús Belgrano, or the national deputy and former mayor of Cádiz, Teófila Martínez, among others, was presented by the director of Actualidad Economics, Miguel Ángel Belloso, who highlighted the “honor and true pleasure” to deliver these awards for the first time in Cádiz.
