Yesterday afternoon, the Government delegate in Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, inaugurated the business incubator that the Cádiz Free Zone has culminated in the Marismas de Palmones Business and Technology Park in Los Barrios, in collaboration with the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce and the Incyde Foundation. Antonio Sanz was accompanied at the event by the State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, as well as by the president of the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy, and the director of Feder Projects of the Incyde Foundation, Natalia Vázquez, in addition to the mayor of the municipality, Jorge Romero, and other authorities, among which were the subdelegate of Government, Javier de Torre, the Innovation delegate of the Board, Gema Pérez, the mayor of La Línea, Juan Franco, as well as technicians from the Free Zone and the company in charge of the works.
The Government delegate in Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, highlighted for his part that the Government of Spain has invested 200 million euros to expand and expand the Free Zone to the province, "which will go from having 300,000 square meters to 1.3 million square meters and will increase its business volume from 350 million to 1,500 million euros annually."
In total, he said, the Free Trade Zone has mobilized 68 million euros in the Campo de Gibraltar region, of which 59 have been allocated to the municipality of Los Barrios.
The delegate also referred to the fact that “the new ITI of Cádiz is already beginning to take shape” and announced that “during the month of February the first meeting of the National Management Commission of the ITI will be held which, together with the recent call for aid to DUSI urban strategies, “will be the starting signal for this very important project to bring European funds to our province.”
The delegate of the Free Zone, for his part, was satisfied with the completion of a project that he described as important for the Campo de Gibraltar in general, where the Free Zone has made important investments that reach 68 million euros, and in particular for Los Barrios and which is aimed at meeting the demand of the business community with a modern, functional infrastructure that will provide added value to both its activities and the environment, which will result in the creation of new jobs.
Jorge Ramos, who insisted on the importance of collaboration between institutions, emphasized the support that the Free Zone offers to entrepreneurs and once again encouraged all businessmen to benefit from the advantages and facilities of the Free Zone and this specific project, whose purpose since its inception has been to improve business management through the creation of a Business Incubator that allows contemplating a business fabric more in line with the new technological and organizational structures.
The mayor of Los Barrios, Jorge Romero, thanked Zona Franca, Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce and Incyde Foundation for their commitment to the municipality and praised the project of this set of warehouses that will respond to and revitalize the business fabric of the area.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Campo de Gibraltar, Carlos Fenoy, said he was satisfied with this special day, in which the fruit of the work carried out can be seen and recalled that the entity he presides “has tried to obtain the necessary resources for the construction of the nursery, as was the case, contacting the Free Trade Zone and the Incyde Foundation so that the project could become a reality.” He thanked the Free Zone for its participation in the project and said that never before "we had a Free Zone so close to the Region and the Chambers."
The construction of the 14 warehouses, carried out by San José Constructora for an award amount of 1,511,061.04 euros (VAT not included), has involved a total investment of 1.85 million euros, excluding the cost of the land, co-financed by funds requested in the Feder Operational Framework 2007-2013.
Of the 14 warehouses, 13 have an area of 226 m2, 193 of them on the ground floor and 33 m2 on a mezzanine floor with a finished office, air conditioning and toilet; In addition, the nursery has another smaller warehouse with 212 m2 - 186 on the ground floor and 26 m2 for an office.
Marketing
In parallel with the work, Zona Franca de Cádiz has proceeded to market the facilities whose Public Offer was launched in December and to which six companies have already submitted.
The selection criteria to access one of the Business Incubator spaces will give priority to newly created companies (less than two years), innovative nature, direct job creation, planned investment volume and the start-up period of activity, among others.
The Cádiz Free Trade Zone, which plans to carry out a second phase, will also take into account in the selection process the Feder guidelines and regulations and the guidelines set by the Incyde Foundation, taking into account that the project has been developed with the co-financing of Feder Funds, in addition to the collaboration of the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce and the Incyde Foundation.
The warehouses have a price well below what the market in the area currently has and those interested can opt for these facilities from 371 euros per month to 395 euros per month, rates to which a 20% discount could be applied the first year depending on the characteristics of the company.
