The State delegate was in charge of opening the event, in which different medals and distinctions were awarded.
The Special Delegate of the State in the Free Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, participated in the event celebrating the 192nd Anniversary of the creation of the National Police that took place today in the Heracles Building of the Interior Precinct of the Free Zone and carried out the opening and presentation of the commemoration, during which he said he felt proud because this event was held for the first time in the city of Cádiz and in Free Zone facilities.
The event, which was closed by the subdelegate of the Government, Javier de Torre, was attended by the provincial chief commissioner of the National Police Corps, Antonio Ramírez Rodríguez, the Brigadier General of the third of the Navy, Antonio Planel, the chief colonel of the Command of the Civil Guard of Cádiz, Alfonso Rodríguez Castillo, and the president of the Provincial Court, Manuel Estrella, in addition to other commanders and personnel of the State Security Corps and Forces.
Ramos took advantage of his intervention to congratulate all the State Security Corps and Forces for their work and especially the National Police Corps, which today also honored recently retired agents who have dedicated their lives to the service of society in recognition of their professional career.
During his speech after the broadcast of a video about the activity of the Police, the provincial chief commissioner pointed out that the Corps "has known how to adapt to the times due to its vocation to serve citizens."
For his part, the Government subdelegate thanked Zona Franca and Jorge Ramos for their presence at the event and reviewed the evolution of the National Police since its origins, pointing out that this is one of the most valued institutions along with the Armed Forces and the Civil Guard.
The National Police Corps, whose history dates back to 1824 when Fernando VII founded the General Police of the Kingdom due to the need to provide Spanish cities with a modern security structure, celebrates the anniversary of its creation on January 13 and on this occasion it marks 192 years.
