The person in charge of the Institution thanked the management team, workers and the media for their efforts during this intense year.
Jorge Ramos highlighted that Zona Franca is an Institution serving the interests of Cádiz, above any ideological issue.
Ramos explained that the capital of Cadiz, where the tax area will soon have 480,000 m2, continues to be the matrix and nerve center of the Free Trade Zone.
The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, held the traditional breakfast with the media this morning, thanking them for the work carried out during this intense year. In his speech, Ramos highlighted the efforts carried out by both the workers and the management team of the Institution "which have made it the leading reference in economic activity and employment in the province of Cádiz."
Jorge Ramos made an assessment of the work carried out since he took office in 2012, highlighting in particular the macro project to enlarge and expand the facility to other municipalities in the province, starting with the capital of Cadiz which, with the incorporation of the land of the former Altadis, will continue to be the epicenter of the Free Trade Zone, with 480,000 m2 of fiscal space.
"We are at the beginning of the great Free Zone of Andalusia, since we have gone from 300,000 m2 to 1,300,000 m2 that will take us, in addition to Cádiz, to other municipalities such as Los Barrios, where the process of establishing companies is also very advanced, Algeciras, La Línea, Jerez and Arcos. This project will generate a significant supply of attractive land and available spaces for the establishment of companies, which will increase their competitiveness by being able to take advantage of the customs and fiscal advantages inherent to a fiscal area and will, therefore, save production costs.”
Furthermore, the person in charge of the Free Zone, who estimated the investment carried out by the Consortium since 2012 at more than 175 million euros, also highlighted, coinciding with the closing of the 2007-2013 Community Framework, the magnificent level of execution and the perfect use of the Feder Funds since he took office in February 2012, with investments of more than 75 million euros in 2012-2015, compared to 13 in the 2007-2012 period.
He also explained the intense work carried out during this recently completed 2015, in which large Business Center projects have been completed in municipalities such as Algeciras, Jerez, Vejer, Arcos, Chiclana and Cádiz, with more than 70,000 m2 of offices in unbeatable conditions, in addition to the creation of new industrial spaces in Los Barrios, Ubrique or Rota.
Jorge Ramos appealed again to loyalty and institutional collaboration, pointing out that Zona Franca is an Institution at the service of Cádiz, a priority that is above any ideological issue. The Free Zone delegate, who thanked the support received from the Government of Spain and Teófila Martínez as president of the Free Zone and mayor of Cádiz, ended his speech by describing Cádiz as “a Free Zone with a clear future.”
