The Special Delegate of the State in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, closed today the second edition of the Meeting of Ideas of the Strait of Gibraltar (EIE) a pioneering initiative in the Region and which this year was held in the Consortium's new business center in Algeciras, the Nexus building.
The balance of the meeting could not be more positive: More than 150 participants and one winning project, Nativa 3D.com by Sergio Collado, among the 8 innovative ideas developed and presented by teams through “Elevator pitch” rounds - in just 5 minutes - during Thursday and today, Friday. The winner receives as a prize an “entrepreneurial briefcase” with services valued at more than 3,000 euros to take “their project to the highest levels”
The Meeting has been organized by the InnovAtlas Entrepreneurs Association, with the support of the Cádiz Free Zone - among other collaborators and sponsors -, which has put its facilities in Algeciras at the service of entrepreneurs so that they can advance and develop their ideas in a professional and modern framework.
Along these lines, during his speech Ramos congratulated the winners and thanked all the participants for their effort and dedication during the meeting and encouraged them to undertake, grow and develop in the business field to create economic activity that favors the strengthening of the productive model of this province, which today is still incomplete. The delegate was convinced that entrepreneurs and young businesspeople are the true architects of economic growth, since without entrepreneurs, companies cannot be created, which are the true drivers of the economy and job creators.
"The moment of truth has arrived. It is time for this region and this province to show that they are the best among the best," said Ramos, who insisted that for this the role of young people is essential to provide innovation and talent.
The head of the Cádiz Consortium expressed his confidence that this type of meeting favors synergy and increased competitiveness and made available to all participants all the tools and services that Zona Franca puts at the service of entrepreneurs so that they can start their activity. Thus, he gave as an example the Nexus building, which hosted the conference, a modern facility with offices and offices available, fully furnished, in the heart of Algeciras.
In addition, he recalled that the Free Trade Zone Consortium has an ambitious project underway to enlarge and expand to new tax precincts in the province that will place it as the first economic focus in the next 3-4 years. Specifically, in the Bay of Algeciras, the new productive spaces in El Fresno-Los Barrios –already underway–, in Algeciras and in La Línea will create an offer of industrial land of more than 400,000 m2 with customs and tax advantages that will attract new investments to the Region.
The program of the meeting, in addition to the aforementioned “elevator pitch”, has contained presentations, talks and networking. The profile of the attendees has been very varied as experts and professionals in Marketing, Tourism, Renewable Energy, Communication, Education, Commerce, Logistics and university students, among others, coming not only from the Region, the province and other parts of Spain, but also from Morocco and Gibraltar.
This initiative, a pioneer in actions in favor of entrepreneurship in the Campo de Gibraltar, has meant that its attendees have generated tools to launch an idea or project, the synergies of team and multidisciplinary work and belonging to a community like Innovatlas. Over the course of the EIE, the participants have worked side by side, going from the concept to the creation of a team, the realization of a demo and, finally, the launch of a business project with mentoring and support from experts.
Among the benefits of participating in this type of Meetings is the possibility of expanding contacts and knowledge in a short time, contacting entrepreneurs or professionals from the same sector or different sectors in order to generate new opportunities through cooperation, making yourself known, as well as establishing and expanding new contacts.
