During the day, the General Director of the Free Trade Zone, José Manuel Fedriani, explained the actions carried out by the Consortium in the province, focusing on the expansion and expansion to new tax areas.

The new productive spaces of the Free Trade Zone in the Campo de Gibraltar region will generate more than 400,000 m2 of land with customs and tax advantages that will attract investments and consolidate the area as the main logistics center in Southern Europe

The Cádiz Free Trade Zone was present this week in Madrid at the presentation of the Algeciras Korean Business Cluster initiative, with the aim of encouraging and promoting Asian investments in the province and, specifically, in the logistics environment of the Port of Algeciras.

The Special Delegate of the State in the Consortium, Jorge Ramos, accompanied by the General Director, José Manuel Fedriani, participated in this day that also had the collaboration of the Spain-Korea Chamber of Commerce, ICEX, Chamber of Commerce of the Campo de Gibraltar and Port Community (Comport), Andalusia Logistics Network, Total Terminal Internacional Algeciras (TTIA), the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Spain and the Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra).

The support of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone was added to the priority objective of the day, which was none other than to make known among Korean and Spanish companies the logistics and port potential of the province in order to increase traffic originating or destined for Asia, in general, and Korea, in particular, as well as promoting associated logistics investments.

The intervention of the General Director of the Free Zone ran along these lines, explaining in detail the commitment of the Cádiz Institution to the province, which has its greatest exponent in the expansion to new tax precincts in the Bay of Cádiz, Bay of Algeciras, Jerez-Campiña and Arcos-Sierra. Specifically, and focusing on the Campo de Gibraltar region around the Port of Algeciras, Fedriani explained that “the new productive spaces in El Fresno-Los Barrios – already underway –, in Algeciras and in La Línea will create an offer of industrial land of more than 400,000 m2 with customs and tax advantages that will attract new investments to the region.”

With this provincial extension and expansion project, through which the Zona Franca will go from 300,000 to 1,300,000 m2 in the next 3-4 years, the Consortium is committed to the province of Cádiz as a logistics and distribution of goods, to attract part of the trade flows from America and Asia, taking advantage of their infrastructure and competitive advantages to operate, reducing costs and times for logistics operators. But go one step further and the new productive spaces will generate centers of production that will lead to the creation of wealth and employment in the area.
