Tradition and modernity go hand in hand in the new Convento San Agustín Business Center that Zona Franca is developing in Jerez and which was inaugurated this morning by the Undersecretary of Finance and Public Administrations, Pilar Platero, in an event in which she was accompanied by the Special Delegate of the State in the Zona Franca, Jorge Ramos, as well as the Mayor of the city, Mamen Sánchez, the Subdelegate of the Government, Javier de Torre and the Senator for the Popular Party, María José García Pelayo, among other authorities, technicians from the Free Trade Zone and construction companies.
The undersecretary has assessed that this important facility for the city is the best reflection of how collaboration and institutional loyalty are essential for the achievement of top-level projects that encourage economic growth and lead to the generation of wealth and employment. Furthermore, he thanked Zona Franca for its work in achieving “an impressive enclave” that, together with the Las Caballerizas annex building, completed in spring, “has formed a modern and functional property intended to accommodate young businessmen and liberal professionals who will provide added value to their activities.”
Likewise, Platero has stated that it is an “honor and a pleasure to return to Jerez to inaugurate a building that has its origins in an agreement signed in September 2012 between the Ministry of Finance itself, the Free Zone of Cádiz and the City Council to rehabilitate the old convent of San Agustín, which was in a ruinous state, as a Business Center and building for companies”, a new productive space in the heart of the city available to entrepreneurs and self-employed workers, to create activity. economic and employment.

For her part, the mayor of the city thanked, on behalf of the people of Jerez, the achievement of initiatives like this “focused above all on the business fabric of the city.”
It is worth remembering that, after the signing of the aforementioned agreement in September 2012, Zona Franca launched the development of the action, with a global investment of six million euros, co-financed by Funds requested within the Framework of the ERDF Operational Program 2007-2013.
In parallel with the development of the works, since this summer the Consortium has been advancing in the marketing of the Business Center, which has aroused the interest of entrepreneurs and liberal professionals who value the strategic location of the property, as well as the fact that it is a modern and functional facility. In fact, with the opening of the public offer for the marketing of properties, you can access an office from 180 euros per month, fully furnished, with Internet connection and including cleaning and the use of meeting rooms.
It should be noted that the rehabilitation works of the San Agustín Convent, which began in January 2014, were awarded to the UTE Nacimiento, Infraestructura y Medioambiente SA-Vimac SA – Constructions Francisco Manzano S.L. in November 2013, as the culmination of a public tender in which 24 companies participated. The drafting of the execution project was previously awarded to Puyol y Cruz Arquitectos.
