The current Tax Precinct is practically full, making it necessary to incorporate the 150,000 m2

A multinational company has shown interest in occupying 70% of the facilities occupied by the tobacco company

The State delegate in the Free Zone of Cádiz, Jorge Ramos, held a meeting last week in Madrid with those responsible for the General Directorate of Customs and Special Taxes, in which he was able to confirm the maximum receptivity of this Government body to the expansion of the Tax Precinct in the Cadiz capital with the land of the former Altadis.
Free Zone formally requested the inclusion of these lands in the Cádiz Tax Precinct through a formal document sent at the end of June to the director of the aforementioned Department.

During the meeting, those responsible for the General Directorate of Customs informed Jorge Ramos about some small modifications that would have to be carried out, such as the type of enclosure, operational access to the Precinct, cameras and location coordinates of the new lands, after which the expansion of the Tax Precinct in the capital of Cadiz would be positively informed and formal and definitive approval would be given, although the final resolution corresponds to the Minister of Finance, Cristóbal Montoro.

The land of the former tobacco factory occupies an area of 105,000 m2, to which must be added the land owned by the Free Zone itself in that area and which was leased to Altadis, with a total of 39,000 m2, and the 5,000 m2 that are owned by the Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz and with whom an agreement for the concession will be signed.
With all this, the Fiscal Precinct of the Free Zone in the capital of Cadiz will have 480,000 m2, becoming an important industrial focus and for which there are already companies interested in locating there. In fact, an important multinational has already shown its interest and could occupy 70% of the total space.

The Free Zone is streamlining the procedures as much as possible to start the implementation of companies, since currently the Tax Precinct is practically full, so it is necessary and urgent to have the expansion, which will also serve the Free Zone to be able to respond to the urgent need to promote economic activity and employment in Cádiz.
It should be noted that in the 330,000 m2 of the Interior Complex there are a total of 177 companies that are dedicated to very diverse activities and that are distributed in traditional warehouses of different surfaces, some of them with large capacity, relocation warehouses and offices and offices in the company buildings.

In this way, 45 companies are currently installed in Free Trade Zone warehouses, which represents an occupancy percentage of this type of facilities of 96% and among which names such as Harinera Vilafranquina, Caladero, Cetárea del Sur, Marham, Cayco, etc., or the most recent ones such as Puerto y Bahía and Gohisa, stand out by area. In the smaller relocation warehouses of the Europa Building, 17 companies are located, which represents 97% occupancy, some of which have moved their activity from the Outdoor Estate.

As for offices, in the Europa Building, which houses the Zona Franca Business Center, 73 businesses are currently operating, which represents 100% occupancy, which are divided between professional clients of coworking and companies that rent offices, while in the Melkart Building 21 companies are installed, with a percentage of 70%, in the Atlas Building, 14 companies, with 70% occupied, and in the Heracles Building seven, which translates into 68% occupancy, all of them belonging to very diverse sectors.

This necessary expansion of the Tax Precinct of the Free Zone in the capital will be an important milestone in the entire expansion and expansion project, since the city as the embryo of the Free Zone is the head and epicenter of this ambitious project, a very necessary project to boost economic activity and promote job creation through the establishment of large companies.
