Institutional visit of the mayor of San Fernando to the Free Trade Zone

After the conclusion of the archaeological studies, whose report will be available in a few days, the Consortium plans to put out to tender the urbanization work before the end of the year

The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone, Jorge Ramos, received this morning at the Consortium's Headquarters the mayor of San Fernando, Patricia Cavada, in what was the first official visit to this Institution since the first island councilor took office.

Jorge Ramos and Patricia Cavada, who were accompanied by technicians from both administrations, held a meeting in which they reviewed the status of the important project underway in the Free Trade Zone at the Janer Tire Park in San Fernando.

This action began in 2013 with the purchase by Zona Franca from the Ministry of Defense of the old Janer Shooting Range and since then the Consortium has carried out intense work that began with the demolition of the old facilities. Subsequently, archaeological findings and meticulous work by experts slowed down the process.

The Consortium, which plans to put out to tender the urbanization work before the end of the year, intends to expedite the work as much as possible to successfully complete the planned project, a commercial and business park with a maximum construction of approximately 60,000 square meters for which contacts have already been made with companies interested in installing it in this magnificently located enclave.

During the meeting, Jorge Ramos once again expressed his support for institutional collaboration and showed the Free Zone's willingness to continue working throughout the province for the benefit of economic revitalization and job creation.
