The Executive Committee of the Free Zone awarded the work on the Business Center last Monday to Gyocivil for an amount of 551,448.78 euros (VAT not included) and a completion period of 3 months.

The Government delegate in Andalusia, Antonio Sanz, together with the Special State delegate in the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Chiclana, Ernesto Marín, accompanied by the Government subdelegate, Javier de Torre, visited this morning the facilities that will house the Business Center that the Cádiz Consortium is developing in the municipality of Chiclana, once it is Last Monday, the Executive Committee of the Free Zone awarded the works to adapt the premises to the Business Center in the “Higinio” Commercial Complex, in Urbisur.
This facility, whose works begin on Monday, thus settles a debt owed to the Chiclana municipality for which both the Consortium and the City Council have been working together with the aim of making the most of the synergies and developing a facility aimed at enhancing the business and social fabric and, consequently, contributing to economic activity and job creation.
The visit toured the 1,800 square meters built on the ground and first floors of the building, which will be adapted to house 17 modules for offices, coworking rooms, offices and classrooms on the first floor; and a lobby and commercial premises on the ground floor, all with exterior façades and, therefore, full visibility from the main road access to the city.
These new spaces are designed for maximum versatility, which will allow them to meet a wide range of needs from liberal professionals to small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurs who will be able to start their activities with all the advantages in the shortest possible time and at very competitive prices, since the offices are delivered furnished and include Internet access and cleaning.
Antonio Sanz highlighted the importance of this facility in a city like Chiclana, which he described as one of the economic engines of the province, while thanking Zona Franca and Mayor Ernesto Marín for the drive and work carried out to bring this project to a successful conclusion.
The Government delegate in Andalusia also showed his satisfaction because the Free Trade Zone and the Government of Spain are committed to Chiclana and proof of this is that “the commitment goes beyond” and announced that in the coming days Jorge Ramos and Ernesto Marín will sign a protocol of intentions for the launch of a new industrial estate in the town.
The mayor, for his part, thanked the Government delegate and the Zona Franca delegate for their commitment to Chiclana and described the project as a historical milestone in the city because "the Zona Franca had never invested in the city before. Today is a happy day," he concluded.
The works were awarded to Gyocivil, Gestión y Execución de Obra Civil S.A. for an amount of 551,448.78 euros (VAT not included), 22.67% lower than the tender budget which amounted to 713,111.06 euros (VAT not included). The execution period is 3 months.
It should be remembered that the works, which are co-financed by Funds requested within the Framework of the Feder Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013, were put out to tender on February 12, with a total of 12 offers having been presented.
In order to expedite all deadlines, Zona Franca already requested the building license from the Chiclana City Council a few months ago and the delegate of the Cádiz Institution met last February with the city's Business Association, once the works had been put out to tender, to report all the details of the action.
The Chiclana Business Center joins, therefore, the largest offer of business centers in the province of Cádiz (Cádiz, El Puerto de Santa María, Algeciras, Jerez, Vejer and Arcos) and highlights the work of the Free Zone for the growth and strengthening of the business fabric in its surroundings, which consequently brings wealth and employment for the different municipalities of Cádiz.
