The Free Trade Zone begins work on the Services Building in Arcos de la Frontera

Ramos highlighted the collaboration between institutions to successfully complete this project, co-financed by funds requested in the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013

The State delegate in the Free Zone, Jorge Ramos, and the mayor of Arcos de la Frontera, José Luis Núñez, presided today over the ceremony to lay the first stone of the Services Building that the Free Zone is going to build in the El Peral Industrial Estate in the mountain municipality. The event was attended by technicians from both institutions and representatives of Sacyr, the company awarded the works.
Both the Free Trade Zone delegate and the Arcense mayor agreed to highlight the institutional loyalty and collaboration that has made the project of this building possible and that will serve to work together in the future as well, all of which will benefit the citizens and the promotion of economic activity.
Jorge Ramos, who explained details of the Services Building, added that this new construction will provide quality facilities to the municipality, since "it will have all the advantages that Zona Franca makes available to businessmen and liberal professionals to facilitate the implementation of their businesses and projects, such as high technology, common secretarial services, rental of classrooms and furniture, among others, offering new spaces for entrepreneurs in a professional environment and with services that will increase the competitiveness of their businesses.”
Likewise, the top leader of the Consortium explained that the Free Trade Zone is immersed in a project of expansion and expansion to other municipalities in the province, which will position it in the next 3-5 years as the first economic and industrial center of the province, since it will go from the 328,000 m2 - that it currently has in Cádiz - to 1,300,000 m2 located in municipalities such as Los Barrios, Algeciras, La Línea or Sherry.
José Luis Núñez, for his part, was satisfied with the speed with which the procedures have been completed and highlighted the importance of the presence of the Free Trade Zone in the municipality with an emblematic building that will promote business activity throughout the area.
These works, which will be carried out by the company Sacyr, awarded the works for an amount of 1,996,770.54 € (VAT not included), have an execution period of ten months and are co-financed by funds requested in the Framework of the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2007-2013.
A total of 27 companies submitted to the public tender opened by the Cádiz Consortium and whose deadline for receiving offers ended at the end of December and which went to tender for an amount of 2,700,163 euros (VAT not included) and an execution period of one year. , the reduction being valued up to the ten months in which it has been awarded.
The Consortium had been working for more than a year to expedite all the necessary procedures that would make it possible for this project, so important to reactivate and consolidate the business fabric of the municipality, to see the light.
The action of Zona Franca in Arcos contemplates the construction in two phases of a large administrative-commercial facility that will be located on a 2,908 m plot² where a modern building equipped with the latest technologies will be built and will house a new Free Trade Zone Business Center.
The first phase, whose works begin today, will be approximately 3,280 m² built and in which 1,181 m² will be parking, 987 m² of commercial premises on the ground floor and 1,112 m² of offices.
In a second phase, construction will reach 4,947 m² approximately and its execution will begin once the first one is marketed.
