Free Zone, Chamber of Commerce and Funsación Incyde sign an agreement to develop an incubator for industrial SMEs in Los Barrios

The Cádiz Free Zone Consortium, the Campo de Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce, and the INCYDE Foundation (Instituto Cameral de Creación y Desarrollo de la Empresa) of the chambers of commerce have signed an agreement this morning for the construction of an incubator for industrial SMEs in Los Barrios, which will consist of 14 industrial warehouses located in the Business and Technology Park of the Marismas de Palmones, in Los Barrios, intended for entrepreneurs of the sector. The project will have an investment of more than 2.8 million euros, eighty percent contributed by the European Regional Development Fund through the INCYDE Foundation and the remaining twenty percent, by the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium.
The special delegate of the State of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone Consortium, Jorge Ramos, has stated that the incubator constitutes “a commitment to entrepreneurs”, offering them an infrastructure that meets their needs. In this way, he wanted to define this action as an “example of collaboration between organizations and administrations.”” to achieve important agreements that represent a reactivation of the economic fabric. Regarding the expected deadlines, the delegate explained that, in approximately forty days, the bidding process for the works will begin, with an estimated execution period of eight months, with the aim of the works being carried out in 2015.
For his part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy, has expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of this project, which will be a boost to the economic activity of the region, promoting new business initiatives in the industrial sector.
Finally, the general director of the INCYDE Foundation, Javier Collado, who announced that the project will be a reality at the end of 2015, thanked the collaboration between entities and the role of the Chamber of Commerce in promoting this investment in the area through European funds, allowing the creation of jobs in the region. "The INCYDE Foundation, participated by the 87 Spanish chambers and among them this Chamber of Commerce, has the objective of creating and consolidating small and medium-sized business projects with the European Union, through its funds. With actions like this, we ensure that these funds reach companies, entrepreneurs and citizens," said Colladó.
With an investment of more than two million euros, the project will be located on plot T3-2 of the Marismas de Palmones Business and Technology Park, in Los Barrios, and will consist of 14 industrial warehouses intended for entrepreneurs in the sector.
The nursery will be built on a plot of 3,795 m2, which will house 14 warehouses of 240 m2 - divided into 205 m2 warehouse and 35 m2 mezzanine - with a total constructed area of ​​3,360 m2.
The agreement establishes that the property will remain in the hands of the Cádiz Free Zone Consortium, while its management and administration will be developed jointly with the INCYDE Foundation and the collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce, an entity that will work on the revitalization of the incubator and the dissemination of its services, all within the deadlines designated by FEDER.
A commission, made up of these three entities, will be in charge of selecting the applicants who wish to settle in the business incubator. This selection will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines set by the FEDER Operational program through the instructions of the INCYDE Foundation.
